Is that a valid statement? I want to use 17x9.5s on the front, and 17x11s on the rear of my car, and I'm debating on weather or not I should buy a 4th gen style rear, or buy a 3rd gen style rear and spacers. The first option would be cheaper, but the 2nd option would allow me to use a wider selection of wheels should I ever decide I want new ones (I would have to order a custom backspacing or offset, right?), but it is $300 more expensive to begin with (For the Skulte spacers). Also, if any of you guys have pics of cars with 17x11s on the rear, any style, please post em! Thanks!!

Yes, it's true. You would then only need spacers for the front. However, 17x11 might be a little tough to fit under there.
I know CarNDriver did it with those Boyds, and Skulte has a pic of a Camaro with them (ZR1) on there. CarNDriver said he flared the fender lips a bit, and took off the inner lip, so I will probably have to do the same.
