4hrs, $20 and Meguiar's Product, Here's the Pics
Today I took a clay bar, Meguiar's Cleaner Wax (step 1), Polish (step2). Took about 4hrs. Tomorrow, I'm going to put step 3 on the Carnuba Wax.

Turned out a little dark, under the car covers, there's a '02 Lightning and Saleen Mustang, if he ever uncovers them I'll get a shot.

The Meguiar's products cost $5 each, the clay bar cost me $13 (it included Mother's Showtime Polish as the lubricant.) A clay bar removes all the pollutants that your paint collects from everyday driving, and will smooth out the paint. I'll take some more pics tomorrow after I put the step 3 carnuba wax on.
Oh, and to the person who said about the before shot looking good, for some reason my hood has the best paint on the whole car so other spots look worse.

Looks real good man. I wish we would have some steady good weather here. 3 weeks ago, I had the t-tops off. Then 3 days later, we got snow. Then 4 days after that or so, it melted, and we had 50's and 60's. Then bitter 10-20's. Today it was like 52, and the next 3 days its supposed to snow. Its nuts. Hopefully I will be Zainoing my car over spring break, or at least using some 3M stuff to try and get the swirls out.

I live in Calvert County and go to Frostburg State Un. Home for spring break right now.
I know what you mean by the weather, last Friday I came home, when we left FSU it was 70*, when we got back Sunday night, there was ice all over the cars.

Mark A.,
Sorry about the off-topic question: What's the diameter of your exhaust tips?
By the way, your ride looks sweet.

The tips are 3"
The front tires are 225, and the back are 235, I want to get some 265s for the back.

I've only been pulled over like 2 times in it. Never a ticket though.

Hey Mark, since you always advertise the hooker exhaust, do you know if it comes for a dual cat car??? And how does it sound at different rpm's, you know like on the highway and stuff, is it loud. I'm thinking about a flowmaster but the're for rustangs, i want something different.

Hey that waxing made a big difference for u Mark. I use that Meguairs 3-step process too. I thought step 1 took care of cleaning and smoothing out the car, why do u need the clay bar, is it that much better with it?
Oh and last week i waxed my car also, and went even further and put 2 coats of wax on it this time. Hey when i get a chance this week maybe i put another coat on to top it off before i store for the winter coming up.

i did the 123 thing a while back, and i loved it, but it was a pain in the butt, i did two coats of 1, about 3 on the hood, two coats of 2 with 4 coats on the hood, and 2 coats of 3 with 4 on the hood, and it came out great, took me two days to do that, had the neighbors comeing over to me telling me i am crazy. took me total about 8 hrs.
biker
i want to do it again soon, but this time only one coat of each (double the hood)

another note, polishing often is ok, but only add wax twice or three times a year, wax has some abrasives and will dull paint, where as polish is not to have abrasives and only polishs the waxy finish and does not affect the paint. even with the new clear coat waxes u can wax your paint right off, over time of course

I did their 3 step and even added a 4th step being the gold class wax. It took me 7 hours start to finish.
It looked great. Just about every single imperfection was gone. BUT it didn't last long. I drove my car just under 1000 miles this year and never in inclement weather. I california car dusted it twice a week and yet the finish is not like it was after the 7 hour job. I've had to wax it 3 more times since then just to keep it looking great.
The paint on my car is in excellent shape but those damn little surface scratches keep coming back.
So far the Meguiars 3 step is the best I've used but I have yet to test f113 and zaino.
Duragloss sucked. It was no different than any other off the shelf wax that you could get at Wal-Mart.
Anywho, that's my opinion of the 3 step. I'd post pics of mine but pics don't really show everything. Sure it looks good but you don't get the angled looks that you get by standing next to the car.
Your car DOES look good Mark.
