If I am not mistaken, they were Cragar "Western" rims. I've been wanting to find a set for my '73 Ranchero, but there are many other things ahead of rims for my "project."
By then I'm sure I'll find something I like better. Kinda nostalgic.

Yup! Aluminum Slots, was what they were called back in the 60s and 70s. Boy do they ever bring back the memories!
In their day it was almost entirely either Cragar SS mags or Slots that were on every muscle car.
I've wondered why they disappeared. The Cragar SSs are still around but the Slots are never seen.

I still like slotted mags.
If these wheels were polished, I'd say they were E.T Mags judging from the oblong bolt holes.

Go ahead and polish them and try. Seeing it for real beats a photochop any day. You might like it. Put them on and see, and take a pic, I'd like to see as well.

That sounds about right. I always saw those rims on the Ford Turinos. They were pretty popular in the 70's because in books you see a lot of custom cars with them, especially the old beatles.

there are many different brands of wheels like that... we got one like it that is a cragar that just has slight differences. im not sure what the set i have is, but its exactly like his. i dont think mine are magnesium because they have some weight to them, which may be the old tired i guess... how do i tell if a wheel is magnesium or aluminum?
