Underchasis

Was wondering if anybody had a pic or know where I can find a pic of the underchasis of corvette or camaro/firebird. Want to see both.

Thanx

Here's one of a Firebird. This one usually pisses people off, though.

Actually that was a promotional gimmick done at dozens of car dealerships and none of the cars were damaged ..... although it is comparable to fingernails on a chalk board.

That thing before the converter looks like that mesh pipe you see on the little imports. If that is what i think it is, it is supposed to be a point of flex in the exhaust system for when the engine rocks. I have never seen them on an american v-8, but mostly the on the 4-cyl imports and domestics. Anyone know for sure? anybody know what i am talking about??

That's because the FWD imports' engines torque laterally, so over the distance of a car-length, a solid exhaust system would have no way to allow for engine movement. American V8s in RWD applications torque longitudally, and there's enough play in the rubber hangers that a "mesh pipe" isn't needed.

Here is some pics from the underside of our Formula. It's not stock though. It has lakewood lower control arms and panhard bar, Sportline springs, poly tranny & motor mounts and end links, Stainless steel brake lines, WS6 sway bars, wonder bar, and KYB adj. shocks. Oh and a Dynomax cat back.
