Pic's of ACS Carpet installed

I got this carpet a long time ago and put it in a few months back but have never posted any pics. I only have two right now and can get more if interested. I got the premium carpet, thread count is 1000.

The carpet fit great, there was about 5 inches I had to cut off around the edges so there was more than enough carpet there. I had to cut all the holes for the console and seat belts, they weren't marked but I think you can do a more custom job that way. I also got the embroidered floor mats, they also are very nice. Dealing with Jim85IROC was great and was very helpful in helping me decide what color to get. I give him and the carpet the highest rating I can.

My car had ACC carpet in it when I got it and it was sunfaded to peach, white and green. It was horrible. The only regret I have is not putting the new carpet in sooner.

Nice install! The 1000 series is amazing carpet and even the best pictures can't show its true quality. I recieved my 1000 series today and began my install. How long did it take you to get yours to drop right? I worked on mine for just 40 minutes today, and I still have quite a bit more to do in order to get it to drop right.

My girlfriend and I worked on it on and off for a day or so. I started under the dash and worked backwards. Not for sure how long it took.

I can vouch for it being a damm nice looking (and feel to touch) replacement carpet.

The ACC he had was absolute nasty garbage.

Yeah, he kept feeling my damn car up. I felt cheap.

It fit just fine under the seat and the driver side floor mat area. Like i said, I started up front, got it sitting in the floor board area, then had to cut about 4 inches off of the very front, where it would go up under the dash. I could cut a little bit off and keep pushing it down. It's kinda forgiving working under the dash because you can't see it in case you mess up.

If I can help anymore let me know.

The carpet looks great! I'm glad that you're happy with it.

You really can't appreciate the difference in quality between the standard carpet and the premium until you see it in a car. On the samples it all looks pretty much the same, but once it's installed, you can really tell that the premium really is a much nicer carpet.

Quickchicken,
The heel pad on LilJayV10's car isn't a stock-type heel pad. I can order the carpet with 2 styles, a single small heel pad like LilJayV10's car has, or the stock type that has the 3 pads. Generally when people are ordering the premium carpet, I get it with the single pad, because once they install the floor mats, it gives a much nicer appearance, but the 3-pad stock pad style is available for those doing a stock-type resto too.

He is right. When I got the samples, I didn't think there would be much difference between the standard and premium but once I got the carpet I can say there is a big difference.

Yes I will get some more pics tonight.

Jay, thanx for the extra pics, looks good. could ya save this thread and give a time lapse on how the carpet is doing over time?

Jim, can the carpet like Jay has be made with the dead pedal pad and gas pedal scuff pads? the benifit i see without them is no chance for mis alignment of the dead pedal and scuff pads.
a friend of mins bought the car motorsports carpet and those 2 pads were close but not close enough. i like the look of that pile in Jays car, better than the OEM style.

The carpet is available 2 ways, like Jay's with the single pad, or with the OEM-style 3 pads. You can't mix & match between the pads. Either style is avalable with the premium cut pile.

Re: Pic's of ACS Carpet installed

Is there any weight difference between this carpet and other carpets out there?
Is it heavier, lighter, or the same compared to the stock carpet??

Re: Pic's of ACS Carpet installed

Why did you decide on ACS? Is it a premolded carpet?

Re: Pic's of ACS Carpet installed

I don't know about weight differences. I'm willing to trade a few pounds for a more luxurious/nicer looking interior.

Yes, it's pre-molded. It also supposed to be a higher quality carpet than what's offered through Classic Industries. More resistant to fading and has a higher threads per square inch count.
(I'm assuming you were directing that question to me.)

I was just wondering to see if it was alot heavier or not. I would like to put a ton of sound deadener underneath before I put my new carpet in, and I hear that weighs quite a bit. So the less carpet weight to offset the deadener the better...

Re: Pic's of ACS Carpet installed

I see what you mean now. I've thought about adding sound deadener to mine as well. I'll just save the weight with an all aluminum LS1...hehe

Re: Pic's of ACS Carpet installed

Haha, im way too deep into my 383 build to go with an LSx engine. Aluminum heads will have to do i guess....

Maybe Jim85IROC will have some imput on the weight of the carpet?

Re: Pic's of ACS Carpet installed

Well from what I have read the carpet with MASS BACKING is like 60lbs or so and without mass backing its like 20lbs. There is a thread on here of the weight difference....you lose alot with the mass backing not on there and sicne you are adding dynamat or w/e just get the carpet without MASS BACKING, but just the carpet.

Mass Backing helps reduce heat and noise so you wont need that if your putting in dynamat or w/e

ENJOY.
