B&M Megashifter and replacement Shift Cable

I'm about to order the Megashifter.... wasn't my first choice, but I ordered the Hurst Dual Gate 2 and hadn't recieved it for over 2 weeks, only to call Yearone and find out that it was on national back order Could be months, or maybe years she said. That was enough for me to get my money back. Also tried Jegs, same deal, National Back Order. So, now I'm gonna have to get the Megashifter, cause I'm doing a complete interior re-build, and all I'm waiting on is the Steering wheel, door pannels (They are on the way though!), and the shifter. However, after reading the threads on the Megashifter I've found that alot of people have problems with there shifter cable, and bought different shorter cables that worked both better and seem to be better quality. What company did you get them from? And whats required to install them? I really need to know this so that I can go ahead and purchase the cable WITH the shifter and do it all at once.

Adam

P.S. - Oh, and if you DO know where I can get the Dual Gate 2 at, please lemme know, I'd really like ta get it if at all possible.

not sure where to get a shorter shifter cable... but i can say that the long one that came with mine has worked fine for about 6 months now. Just install it as per the instructions (loop it over the tranny) and you should be fine.

I used the 3ft(I'm pretty sure it was the 3ft.) HD B&M race cable and ran it straight to the trans. I ordered it through Summit. To make the "S"(kind of) is pretty tight where it goes into the bracket on the transmission but it works fine. The shifter while slightly stiff to get out of park is 100X better then it was with the original cable doing the loop as per the directions.
