Compliments on my firebird
I am always amazed when I get a Compliment on my car. I got one today as I was sitting at a light. Some guy drove by and said nice TA. Which it isn't, but has the TA lights.
Once I had a guy come up and check out MY CAR at Advance Auto Zone. (If you look at pic of my car, you'll see why i am Amazed)
I am thinking or turning into a TA w/o engine modification. Since that would be way to much for a mere girl like me to do.

PS: Sorry about the fun in your post about the 700R4 horror story - it was so appropriate that I just HAD to do it. I read through your post almost four times before I realized that I was just NOT gonna get it.
I was there to help, but man, all I ended up doing was blowing spit bubbles trying to understand what you were trying to say.

It don't look too bad, just needs some tender loving care like most of our cars do. See about getting hooked up with a maaco job, unless you already plan on a super high end paintjob. If you get the higher end maaco it's still under 1K(depending on if they do body work or not, and how much they need to do), and it has like a 4 year warranty...

I went to macco and they quote me 1770 w/o them redoing the front bumper. I am still look for quotes. I just need the bodywork done. My uncle can do the paint job.

Well that Maaco is completely and utterly high. Try a different one, or an Earl Schiebs; hell I don't think the Maaco's around here can count that high. I was quoted almost $700 for Earl Schiebs' "best" paint job using metallic white base/clear, with warranty, door jambs, and underhood being painted. If that's still the case, drive your car up here to Virginia Beach and drop it off for a week.
By the way, I've got a page with pix showing the two common causes of the headlight problem and how to fix them here in case you're interested.

1770? as in dollars? You may think about getting your uncle or someone to take the car back to the same place and get him to get a quote and see if they were trying anything simply because you are a girl. I had some tune up shop try that with a friend of mine simply because she knew nothing about cars. $60 to replace the spark plugs is a little high don't you think?

I dont know, I'm just babbling tonight. Wow its late.
I have seen shops go from $35 to $65 to change spark plugs but something about that bothers me. I know that is a typical rate for shops, which is cool and all but still. The car is a 4-cylinder. They are all on the top which means next to no labor! The plugs themselves should cost about $8 total. I don't think thats worth 52 bucks in labor. Maybe, it's just me. Now if they were going to do the plugs and wires, flush the cooling system, top all fluids, adjust the timing and wash it.. I might think about $60 because they may save me the time of doing it. heh.

Yeah I hear what you are saying, but if someone dosent know how to change spark plugs on their car, 4, 6, or 8, then they have to pay the money for the so called convience. Dont get me wrong, there is NO WAY I would take my car to a shop, for anything, but some people dont have that option.
On another note, like you were saying about your friend, women should always have a man with them when they go to a repair shop of any sorts. Dont ask me why, because I think you have an idea anyways. Just a good idea, even if the man knows crap about cars.
