fenders

My 1989 GTA was involved in a minor accident the other day. The driver's side front fender was damged and will probably have to be replaced. I think the GTA emblem will also have to be replaced. Any estimates has to how much the repairs will be? I have considered having the entire car repainted, since the hood and roof are starting to fade. But don't worry, I'll make sure she gets the best quality paint job possible.

a good number of people here have put $500 maaco paint jobs on their cars and been satisfied with the results. likewise, many have installed $50 junkyard fenders on their cars themselves and been happy.

but for a dealer quality paint job, you're probably looking at around $1500, plus or minus a few hundred for the paint portion. new fender will probably be around $250 plus another $150 for the mounting. not sure on the condition or mileage of your thirdgen GTA, but $2000 is a significant portion of the value of any thirdgen. maaco & a salvage yard fender may be the best option.

thats nuts for a junkyard fender there is a place in pa that sells aftermarket fenders for like 60 bucks and 40 if u want a dinged or dented one. the dented ones are small dents that u really cant even see. they cant sell them at the same price thats for a fender for my 87 iroc but there shouldnt be a real big diffrence. the name of the company is sei

My GTA has 71K miles on it. A guy that my fiance works with said he could get me a fender for cheap, since he does paint a body work. To keep costs down, my dad and I are going to try to put it on ourselves. Thanks for the info, I have considered a maaco job, but if I go that route, I'll just do all of the sanding and body work myself.
