Don't want to be sacreligous but......

I was cruising the junkyard looking for a posi rear for my ride. I came across what was left of a 2000 Mustang loaded to the teeth. The seats in it were AWESOME. You could adjust everything on them. They looked like they might be a bolt swap but I didn't measure to be sure. I can get them for under 100.00. Does anyone know if they will bolt right in? I'm not really keen on the whole Ford idea but they beat the heck out of any Camaro seat I've ever seen and I could never find Vette seats at such a deal.

They might bolt in, if I were you I'd see what else you could get cheaply off that car.

Do those thigns have the ford 9bolt rear-ends? If it does you might want to snag that for your car, its a big improvement.

OOHHH YYEEEAAA, I didn't think about that. Might have to check in to that one. By the way I used your gauge templates. They look great. I'll get some pic's up soon.

Even if they dont fit, get them anyways, and anything else you can for cheap off of that car.

Then sell it all for a profit.

For a hundred bucks, you could make it fit foo. Nothing "sacreligous" about it. Anyone with that mindset doesn't understand the roots of our hobby.

I don't think it would be all that difficult to get your factory seat rails to bolt up to those seats. Might require some bracket fab. but for a 100 bucks you can't go wrong...

Oh I know, just playing on the whole love hate relationship between Ford and Chevy. Didn't mean to offend anybody. Besides no matter how different they are they're still among the last of the true AMERICAN muscle. I just wanted to know if anyone else knew if they would bolt right in or if it would take some fabficating.

I would say as long as you like it, go for it. I have seen some dude put Hyundai bucket seats in a VW Beetle. (Old style, not that damn New Beetle)

I was thinking the same thing Zupman said. Hey, don't forget to check out other GM cars for seats! I found my original seats in a Pontiac 6000 S/E Station Wagon!! Since it was a four door wagon, the seats didn't tilt forward, so I moved my seat's tilt mechanism to the wagon's seats. My rails bolted up exactly to the wagon's seats.

Turned out that a few weeks later, on this board, I found out that my seats (and the wagon's) were Trans Am seats! Don't know how my car got them to begin with, but the wagon was a special edition, so I guess it got the fancy seats.

So don't just look at camaros & firebirds, look at cavaliers, celebrities, grand ams, etc!

When you take the seat take the seat rails with them. Like everybody else has said, if you can get them that cheap, see what else you can get. The beauty of our cars is that you can do what every you want to them and nine times out of ten make it work. I would just be worrited about the color and the width. Good find. And don't feel bad, you car isn't going to hate you for tranplanting ford parts in her, if it is better than what you got then go for it. It is your a$$ sitting in them!!!!

If you like them, put them in, if you don't sell them at a profit, and use the money to buy 4th Gen Seats. Its your car, who cares what other people think. IMO, I wouldn't becuase the Rustang is the Nemesis. But if it makes you happy, then do it. Nuff said.
