Sounds like a bad motor. My Freinds Caddy does that on both front windows. The bad part about that is when it starts raining and you have the windows down it only rolls up about half a inch for every 3 minutes. That Sux! Bet you could go to a junk yard and get a new motor. Or I have herd if you spray the old one down with WD40 that lossens it up and works.

yeah i just replaced my passengers power window motor, because i would go down some and then stop, and then go down some more; same thing for the trying to go up.. The motor was totally wore up and drawning too much amps/current and blowing the circuit breaker.. after i ruled out the window switch i swapped with a new window motor for 50 bucks. Now the window is fast as sh_t compared to my other window, but the great thing is that they both work now.

i ran into a similar problem where the window would only roll down an inch or two when i did a manual crank window -> power window conversion on a thirdgen.

turns out i inadvertently put the drivers side window regulator in the passengers door.
