4th Gen Wheels on a 3rd Gen

Does anybody out there have 4th Gen 16x8 wheels on their 3rd Gen? If so please post some pics. I'm thinking of ordering them from SLP since I need tires anyway. The tire/wheel package is so dirt cheap! Are any spacers or adapters necessary to make them fit?

Thanks in advance

I *think* you just need some spacers...try doing a search on the boards...

Oh well..just when you think you're getting a bargain! 300 bucks for wheel spacers! Gimme a break! Its not even a mechanical part..its a piece of metal!

I've actually been trying to get gta wheels on e-bay but those bastard keep outbidding me! (my budget is like 200.00)

The SLP take-offs wouldve been a good compromise for 549.00 with tires, but not for an extra 300.00 plus shipping for those stupid spacers. I wasnt that crazy about the wheels anyway. I'm just tired of looking at my Formula rims.

they are grey but I just started sanding one of them down so I could paint them black. I have 2 of them at my house that I'm sanding/painting, my cars in the shop with the other 2 tires on the back. If you want to wait a few days I'll have all four painted black, but I think you may need to find like 2 of the plastic center caps. I'll give you a price after I paint them. Or you can make me an offer for them unpainted if you want em. =)

Sounds awesome. Other than needing paint, what kind of shape are they in? I dont need the centercaps. Get back to me and I'll email you.

Third gen rear with 2-1/4" spacers all around

4th gen rear, spacers only on the front.

Spacers on front and rear if using 3rd gen rear. No spacers on the rear if using 4th gen rear. Spacers are $160/pair, 2-1/4" for the front and 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 on the rear.

Looks sharp Zepher. I was going to get the 16 inch wheels...I dont think they would've looked as good. I'm kind of looking for that "deep dish" look that the GTA wheels have.

dwish8990- I'll be looking forward to it! Wanna use e-mail from here on?

Thanks,
the next video will be out in a few months. I have no motor or tranny in the car. the LT1 will be an LT4 in a couple of weeks when the heads and intake come in. I sold my T5, looking for a 4L60E or T56, depending on price. I also have no exhaust on the car, traded the complete exhaust, headers to exhaust tips yesterday for an NOS Direct Port Fogger Setup and 4" Aluminum Cold Air Tube.

I'll have pics of the new stuff later on when I get off my lazy butt.

Nice 3rd gen-4th gen combo. It looks pretty integrated. In fact it looks better than a 4th gen! Although I think the RA hood lends itself better to the 91-92 style TA.

My car is a mixture of 3rd gen stuff.
-84 TA 5.0 HO hood scoop decals and intake screen
-87 GTA seats
-92 visors
-91 cargo cover screen
-84 TA glove pocket
-90 TA leather parking brake
-87 GTA tail lights

Its like "Franken-Formula"
