hello again!

the problem is the passenger side visor keeps falling down, it wont stay in place, it just started doing it.

is there a way to tighten this up?

my friend used to own an 87 and had the same problem, his soloution was to take it off and pour some Pepsi into the hole, and it fixed it, but I want to know the correct way of fixing it.

I had this problem on my 92 RS. First try tightening the screws. I tried that and it didn't work so I put a small piece of Velcro on it to make it stay.

Recently, I replaced the seatbelts in my IROC and to do so I had to remove the headliner and sun visors. My driver's side one is falling all the time now so looks like I gotta get some more Velcro. In the mean time, I just put it up upside down and it stays. Good luck.

I have the same problem, im just going to use some velcro like MetalliCamaroRS. Seems like the best way to fix it besides buying new visors

There's a little plastic bushing in there that has worn out and letting them flop down.

If it not the plastic bushing, it's the hanger itself. The bullet-shaped piece that inserts into the visor itself sometimes comes loose from its housing, and as a consequence twists in the hanger, so that no amount of tightening the visor bushing will help. New hanger(s) from a yard are dirt cheap.

I tried tightening the screw to no avail. Then I discovered that the pin had come loose from the housing. So no amount of tightening on the clamp and plastic bushing would keep it from turning. I fixed mine by using a punch and a vise. I put a huge dent in the side of the mirror bracket housing that wasn't exposed. I dented it in enough so the pin is once again stopped from turning. I imagine you could do the same thing with epoxy. Then I spray painted it black and reinstalled. I tried getting another from Pick-a-Part, but the coupe ones are different than my convertible one.

Make life easy - Especially if your visor and headliner are black. Use superglue to attach both sides. Works great and can be done quickly. No one will notice the velcro.
