Read-- Need Help Quick!! Lotsof Pics (broadband)

I am currently looking at purchasing a 92 Z28 w/305TPI. I need some advice. The car seems to have a bit of damage... someone tellme if its worth it for $1800. I REALLY WANT A 3RD GEN!

Also, the title is salvage- I'm not concerned considering its a project car. Also, I want to restore this car, it looks tohave an RS interior... any ideas? Maybe a B4C car with Z28 badges, spoiler and hood?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I would say NO. I can get you one in a lot better shape for the same price.
Have you checked the RPOs and the VIN?

The Vin# shows correct info. RPOs - I'm still waiting for those.

I'd have to say no too, maybe for $900-$1000 but not $1800.... It's too bad looks like the car was nice once upon a time The interior appears to be just the base package (Standard Cloth) not the Deluxe (Custom Cloth) interior found in many later Z's

I'm going with no as well. Make a list of all it needs and price it out. Then add the $1800 to it. Do you really think its worth that? You can get a project car in much better condition for $1800.

$1800 way too much. Don't let your emotions make the decision for you; use your brain and patience, Grasshopper.

My problem is that I live in SE Idaho. Not much here in terms of TPI F-Bodys... 3rdGen... NONE for a decent price. I'm just tired of searching.

if i were you i would save my money and look for a nicer one. that car needs alot of work. the front end is probably all messed up(subframe damaged), judging from the the front pic. that car is worth about $500 at the most. if i were you i would not buy it.

How much in repairs do you think it'd cost? I'm assuming no frame damage and just panelsand things of thatnature.

My vote is no also. Not unless you really want a purple Z28. It looks like a non G92 car with the 2.73 rear axle and drum brakes.
I also find it odd that this car sports a power seat with the "base" interior (code82B). Best of luck to you in your search.

I guess I may _have_ to pass. Does anyone know of any decently priced '91-'92 Z28's from say Missouri to California?

I'm willing to drive pretty much anywhere to get a Z. I was originally thinking when I started my search that I wanted an Iroc, but the more I think about it, I would really prefer a 91-92 Z28 with TPI.

My main concern is PRICE. I need a car for "cheap". I don't really care about mileage, as long as the car was maintained and treated relatively well.

THANKS

maybe it's just the looks of the photo, but that car almost looks like it was in a flood of some sort. Either way, it's not worth the investment time to put it all back together. Best bet is to leave it for parts. A shame to see a machine like that in such crappy shape. Even worse is the guy trying to gouge you for it. Have patience, you'll find the one you want.

Im really bored

New seats: $150-500 (you can probably get some nice thirdgen cloth seats for about 150, i always see people selling theirs, or you can try to get some 4th gen seats)

Used Dash Pad (thirdgenresourse.com) $150

New Carpet 150

2 91-92 style rims and tires 600

new hood $200-400 (junk yard or aftermarket)

left and right front fenders (thirdgenresourse.com) $460

rear view mirror + door locks + gas cover $75

Used front bumper assemply (thirdgenresourse.com) $325

used front spoiler: $125

park lights and head lights $100

grill: $50

Maaco Paint Job: $600

New Weather stripping $150

Misc. Parts and Labor $200

Im looking at about 4000 give or take just to make it look like a regular camaro, so you would be spending about 5500+, you can find a way better deal than that.

Plus, you don't kknow how the engine runs. Of course you have this nice lookign car now, but what when it needs a complete rebuild as well. Then while your at it, you might as well put on the common performance parts. So, I would say you would end up more like 7000 when you get done. Don't quote me on that. I would like to do some work on my engine, so I'm not sure as to the cost of a rebuild yet. I'm figuring close to $1200 for the rebuild along with some new heads, cam, intake, and maybe some other cheap stuff. Doing all the work yourself will be the bigest advantage in prices.
