The T-Tops in my car rattle constantly. It drives me nuts. Is there anything I can do to help with this, or am I SOL?

 

Adjust them maybe? should be a couple of plates you and loosen and move around.

 

As said, you can adjust the lock mechanisms so they're a tighter fit.

Mine did the same thing, I took a little vasoline on my finger and rubbed it all around the tops. Not had a problem since.

But will Vaseline eat the rubber eventually?

 

I do mine every summer, and it hasent done anything to them yet, if anything its softens the seals up so they wont crack. The only thing you want to make sure you do not do is put a whole bunch on them, When vasoline gets hot it runs. Belive me i know from experiance.

 

Would another lubricant such as lithium grease be better than vasaline? It seems that vasaline wouldn't last as long.

 

Ive never tried anything else, you might have to do trial and error? But i figure it would probley do the same thing.

 

I would think that Vaseline would be bad for your rubber gaskets since rubber and petroleum products don't go well together, get some silicone grease if you have to use something like that, I have been using ArmorAll on mine since I bought the car new and the gaskets still look and feel like new and no rattles or leaks.

 

Get SFCs...no rattles on mine after getting them installed. Oh, do the "greasing" thing as well...it's free.
