Can This Be Repaired?

This is the passenger side door where the lock cylinder goes. It's on my 5-speed...the previous owner says it was from an attempted break in. I've used the Eastwood lock reforming tool but not with much luck. Is there an easier way or is it even worth trying?

Dude that is ugly. You are better off getting another door. It can be done but will never look the same and if it did it wouldn't be as strong. Unless of course you are really attatched to that door...then there is always welding.

save your money buy another door.

could weld the hole shut and retrofit remote keyless entry. if you don't currently have power door locks, you'll need to install a couple of aftermarket door lock actuators.

Or you could have a bodyshop fix it for you. You might be able to get the "lock area" around the lock from a dented door in a junkyard for a good price. Then the body shop could just weld the new piece in. Or, maybe they'd rather weld the tears in the existing metal shut- can't hurt to ask them what they'd want.

In other words what I was saying. If you do have a body shop weld a peice on for you the cost will be ugly. Like as much as a nice junkyard door.

Same thing happened to my 89. THe body shop cut the piece out and welded in a new piece. It looks flawless dude. It can be fixed.
