Well I am royally annoyed by this one. I said I wanted a new paint job but not this badly.

Oh well better get me my check for my car shortly.

It seems blue 3rd gens have a trend of getting crunched. But I am not worried to much about this.

Yes I did get run over by a larger truck.

so what is the story? did he run a light, stop sign or just not see you or what?? Was it a pickup or a company truck?
I guess if you are going to get into a wreck that was the ONE you could hope for.

Ouch. I say get the most amount of cash you can, fix your car, and put the rest is your pocket for "emotional" damage.

Mike, that sucks. As opinionated as I think you are sometimes, I still don't like to see bad things happen to people. The point is that you yourself are ok. It is good news that the car is indeed fixable

Just glad to hear that you're ok, and say that it is a shame to see something like that happen to such a clean thirdgen.

Looks like the front ground effects didn't get touched. Are you gonna be able to use those again?

your royally pissed off mike ??? Man, I didn't know you were Royalty

You know i am just pokin fun with ya!

Again, as I said on Hr3rdgen, this can be looked at on the positive side, you get the new paint you wanted and an excuse to buy the Daytona IROC Hood . This is a "blessing" in disquise. Treat it as such.

Still think it was the explores fault, not the van...

car looks fixable. but thirdgens are low dollar value cars, so it's very easy to spend more on repairs than the car is worth. most insurance companies will "total" a car when repair cost exceeds 75% of it's value.

inner fender passenger side strut tower & radiator support look like they may be bent, but the rest would probably be a bolt on.

you're fortunate that you've got witnesses. if one just looked at the pictures, it would appear as though you rearended someone.

well dude,

even though we dont get along too well(not at all actually) i really think that this isnt cool...when i said that i hope you crash into a tree i only said that b/c of what you said about my car...a mans car is his most cherished possession..i do agree with the others..this although now looks ****ty, it is a blessing in disguise..you did want a new paint job and a new hood, and now..you can have those things..

once again with our differences aside that aint cool...take him/her for everything you can get!! and then some!

the way i look at it, you could turn a profit. a junkyard front clip, headlight housings, and maybe a few more odds and ends, even the ground effects look decent. i called around the yards here looking for a front clip, 150 w/o a bumper. BTW, glad to see your not hurt, but if i were you i woulda rolled on the ground and yelled MY NECK AND MY BACK HURTS and cried, lol, woulda got me outta debt and a 383 in my car but in all seriousness, good to see your ok, and i can't wait to see that beast wearing a fresh coat of paint.

Have you talked to the insurance people yet? Are you absolutely sure that they are not going to blame you, even partially?

I ask because I had a car totalled before I got the RS, and even though it was not my fault, the insurance partially blamed me. It was a three-car accident, with one person causing the accident and me and another person colliding. I ended up not getting crap from the person that really caused the accident, so I had to collect from my insurance since I had full coverage. And now I am in the middle of being sued for $275,000 for the "injuries" suffered by the person I hit. What a lot of total crap!!! I still have back problems from that, and it was two years ago.

And since we live in the wonderful Commonwealth of Virginia, we have a law called Contributory Negligence. That means that if you were even partially at fault, you cannot collect damages from the other party, even if they were the real cause of the accident. Damn this state! Most states have Comparative Negligence, which means that if you were partially at fault, the money you receive in damages is reduced by the percentage that you were at fault, as determined by the insurance companies.

Glad you're OK!

Just what is it about blue Camaro's? Been wondering where that red came from underneath my original blue paint???

I've found red on parts you wouldn't think would be replacable...Now it doesn't bother me that my car has been repainted, but it does bother me that it may have been wrecked badly. Of course Carfax says nothing except that the mileage is correct...if I can believe that now.

Mine Dark Metallic Blue... Bad Luck, well sometimes, cars really bitchy, never makes up its mind...

... But i have evidence showing it was once in a front end crash... Bad paint job (well to me anyways, everyone else says it looks awsome) over original black paint. I bought the car with a cracked airbox and fan shroud. No stickers under the hood, or no RPO list. and a few other things point to front end daamage.

If it helps i have the original fenders, quarters, doors, and the decklid (but thats leaning on my house, hatch busted from heat, another one installed)

Im working on a blue rs like youors with the same damage but his radator support is toast pushed all the way to 2 inches in frount off the engine. but his hood curl all the way around to the lock mecinasim. just a tip use a saws all on the nose makes getting to all of those bolts easy.

ya that accident was a pity, elderly people make a left hand turn in front of me because the light was yellow and they "ASSumed" i was going to stop, which i didnt have time to do, so i hit them and get slapped with a ticket for running a red light. They try and pin the whole accident on me, I go to court take some witnesses get the ticket dismissed, and now the wonderful state of utah has whats called 60/40 where my insurance pays 60% of damages and the other party's pays 40% but that doesnt pay for the car because it was only collision coverage.

BUT g*d has smiled on me and i bought a 89 Iroc z 350 TPI today!

well considering how bad it looked before, theres really not that much damage, except it looks like the passenger side upper frame rail may be a little bent but thats it, The front sheet metal piece that has the holes in it for the headlight wires is really easy to reshape with a Porta Bar. My 85 Iroc that i totaled was wrecked when i got it, it was almost identical to yours, needed new fenders hood radiator, and miscelaneous other parts

The one Im fixing nees a new raditor support ( aka that piece of metal inbetween the fenders). How hard is that to replace?

Daaaaaaaang....been there. I feel your pain, man.

Don't let the insurance try to stiff you your money. If you're sore, make it into an injury, and get some more out of the deal for a full repaint.

Hope to see it good as new soon.

Take care!

just be greatful that you still have it!!
Not trying to start anything but care to explain how you got this supposed "190hp 2.2"?

Seems kinda high to me considering that the 2.2 in 93 made like 125hp stock and the Quad4 W41 2.3 made 185 in '93.

picture this...every after market upgrade avail doesnt exist for your car(the 93 base cav) i had to fab almost everything from other cars..headers,flywheel,intake,blah blah blah..but it wasnt exactically 190 it had about the same as the 96 quad 4 baretta z26 did when you added headers, catback intake and underdrive pullies..(approx 175 or so) 190 was from the motor itself..or so they told me

Although I couldn't view the pix for some reason, judging by everyones reaction it was pretty bad.
It's sooo nice to see everyone pull together in times of tragedies, and set aside their animosities. Good goin guys'!

Dude, if your suing, don't let the insurance companies catch you working on your car, or even takin out the trash for that matter.

I'll leave my car black, thanx for all the tips!!!

Glad your ok!

Actually, headers for the 2.2L are quite easy to find. Still though, I have a hard time believing that a 2.2L was putting out 190hp with just bolt ons. Most I've seen from a N/A 2.2L was like 150 at most.

FYI - Only 800 or so '94 Beretta Z26 models had a Quad4 engine. In '94 the Quad4 HO only had 170 anyway.
