tilt nose

Recently while thumbing through JC Whitney (amazing what you can find if you look hard enough) I found a 3rd gen fiberglass tilt nose that supposedley fits 82 to 84 Camaro's. I must be crazy, aren't all thrid gens "unibodies"? I would think a tilt nose a bit impossible especially with the inner fenders and all the front end skirting. I have an 89, I've toyed with the idea of the tilt nose but I think it weould have to be closer to the clamshell set ups on later vettes. Any thoughts? More importantly any pics?:lala:

No, actually its possible, and not all that hard. Our fenders, front bumper, and hood all just bolt on to the chassis. You can actually take off the fenders, hood, and front bumper and still drive the car around.

I would guess that a product like that is designed for a drag car, and if you've got a drag car with a tube chassis/cage, none of that unibody crap is going to be there. But, that sort of fiberglass nose is totally impractical for a street car. First time you tap a curb you're going to shatter the whole front half of the car. :sillylol:

jcwhitney didn't have a pic for the item but here is the info: part # 94ZX1601AFE PRICE $599.95 Plus shipping. It sounds too good to be true or if it is true it is a nightmare to make work. They say a pic is worth a thousand words if you look at the pic of the car minus nose and fenders one has to wonder where the benefit of the tilt nose is with all the inner fenders and crap it really doesn't make it easier to work on. I think I'll stick to seeing if I can flip my hood (theres a posting on how to do it)

That's actually the next step for the '84 Z bracket car. Well, that plus a jegster front clip (or something similar). You really gotta hate those strut towers. I'd actually like to put a Nova front clip on my car. Probably next to impossible, but it would free up a lot of room. A tilt front end would be great for shock value.
"Could you pop the hood?"

"Sure" Lifts from the back

Lots of twin turbo SBC madness on the way if I had that chassis (and a butt load of money). Have to settle for what I've got right now.
