Ground Effects

After driving my Z28, a buddy of mine is interested in a 84 Trans Am, but, would like to remove the ground effects and make the car look like the 82 and 83 models. Is this simply a case of taking the effects off or is there more to it, such as requiring different bumper covers?

as far as birds go 82-84 models were one appearance group, 85-90 was another, and 91-92 were their own thing. in this case i assume what he wants to do is make it look not like a trans am but instead like a regular/base firebird or formula (which, i know, was prob. not offered back then). if so then he'll need to remove the gfx and i think that's it, although you'll want to PM "billsfirebird " as he's been dealing with restoring 82-84 firebirds for like a million years
