Covering Scratch for now!

Hey guys, hoping you can help. I am in the process of doing my motor swap and lets just say i had an accident! Yes it was before i had put the fender cover on. Well, i got a scratch on my fender and it is small but it went down to the metal! A razor blade fell on it. I had a paint job done two years ago and never got touch up paint. Until i can get some i was wondering what i can put on the scratch to keep it from rusting. When in went out there this morning it was starting to form rust! Please help. I was thinking of maybe some wax on it or maybe WD-40? Would this harm it even more? thanks for your time
