Will be getting an ASCD SS Hood for the hardtop....I want to get rid of the stock latch assembly though...I was wondering...can I retain the stock rear hinges and hood supports to keep the hood attached there....and have it held up when working on it (dont like having to completely remove the hood and find somewhere to put it ie the lift off hoods).....and use some hood pins for the front? If so which kind? The ones Ive seen in like jegs say "Not to be used with stock hinges" or something like that. I really want the kind that use a key to lock down.

This kit has to be used with the factory hood latch assembly and should not be used as the only hood-retention mechanism.

 

I'm using those and I removed the actual factory latching mechanism. I left the "lift lever to open" under the hood as a secondary however.
