4th Gen Interior Panels?

I did a search on this and couldn't come up with anything. Ok We all know that you can swap in the dash and the seats, and the console. But does anyone know if the 4th gen Interior plastic molding/panels can be swapped in also?

I understand that. I was meaning a complete.. 100% interior swap of a 4th gen to a 3rd gen. How much of the 4th gen interior body style is the same as a 3rd gen? Can it be done?

Sure, people have done center consoles, dashes, door panels, and of course seats. I am sure if you kept messing around with the words in your search, you would find something. Go to the readers rides to and do a quick search, good luck.

Thats exactly what I am NOT mentioning

What about all the interior panels? The sail panels for instance. Or all those panels in the rear which hold the compartment and the spare?

Do a search man. There are lost of posts on this. I even made a post in one thread with alot of good pictures. You can swap in 4th gen dash, console, door panels, front and rear seats. You can get a 4th gen guage cluster to work in a 3rd gen. I have not heard of people trying anything else (like sailpanels, or rear interior pieces). This will not be a bolt in type deal. Chances are you will need to do a little fab work.

I plan to start this mod by the end of next month. I will be swapping in the dash, 155 mph cluster, 6 spd console, and leather door panels from a 2000 T/A (all black) into my 1992 B4C. I'm just wating on the console. I will also be installing my sounds while I do the 4th gen interior update. To finish my interior plan, I will be installing the reverse indaglo guages for the 4th gen cluster (155 mph), a full CF interior accent kit (dash, cluster, doors, console), a set of Corbeau Carrera seats, some black aluminum pedal overlays, some underdash lighting, and finish it off with parts from Momo (steeringwheel, shift ****, e-brake handle). The entire interior/sounds plan is geared towards a show car type appearance and style.

Do a search all you want, these idiots can't listen. This has been covered once, I asked it a long time ago.

No go take measurements, I've checked the plastic peices around the hatch and rear are completly different, the sails look simlair but on a different angle as well.

Sorry to sink your battle ship

If he would have been more specific in his FIRST TWO POSTS, then us "IDIOTS" would not have tried to HELP him with the wrong things! You need to go buy a damn 4th gen if you want to make your car look exactly like one. Damn. What is up with this "craze", sure it was cool when people started to do it but it will soon be played out. I know it may seem custom, but if it just goes right in, it really isn't, it is just different. It looks good, but now that everyone is looking to do it, not anymore. Good luck trying to get that stuff to fit because when it is done, i doubt a lot of people will even notice the panels unless you tell them or they know their ****. later

Dude, you seriously suck. The "Buy a 4th gen!!" comment is sooooo lame man. Have you ever even been inside a 4th gen? In my opinion, and I'm sure many others, it is much nicer in there than our interior. Oh, and he was quite specific, I had no problem understanding what he was asking the first time I read the post. Maybe you are just slow or something? Who cares if other people will notice? As long as I know that I have a nicer interior than you, I dont care if anyone ever sees it. I'm done, its too late to be on my freakin comptuer....

Thanks guys! I'm glad i have so many friends. If you like the 4th gen interior so much, why did you not buy one? Seriously, because you are broke as ****, aren't you so you had to settle! You can tell the truth. Right now i am not looking to have an interior the same as everyone else! Just my view though. Besides, i would rather blow your *** away in a race anyday then have another stock interior. I admit, the whole dash conversion would be pretty sweet but i think that would be overkill. Spend that money on some power. Pennyless is the one who decided to flame for no reason when i was trying to help the guy. Sure, it is a lot easier to flame then to help the guy out, which i have yet to see anyone do. Pennyless has said that it wouldn't fit but that is probally because he doesn't have the money to do it! Yeah that was cheap but i am too slow and am from a lame town to come up with anything big besides posting my *** *** in a picture holding a sign. "Have a nice day"

Man, have you ever tried working on a 4th gen? It's a frikken pain in the *** compared to a third. The way I look at it is they want a nicer interior with the easiness of working on a thirdgen. The best of both worlds. Not to mention that most good condition, low mileage thirdgens sell for more than a bunch of LT1 4th gens.

Well looks like you guys are having fun in here... but anyway... does anyone have any pictures of the 4th gen interior in a 3rd gen? I've seen one but it was taken to far away to see anything worth while. I've redone my entire car except the interior. The only thing I have done was replace the steering wheel and seats. I went and got those Corbeau Forza's and a Dimno Steering wheel. I didnt think there was anything else I could do... but thanks to a friend I just recently found out you could change over the dash, gauges, and door panels of a 4th gen into a 3rd. So whats the whole deal with the change over? They dont just bolt in do they? What does one have to do to fit it all in?

Sorry to just jump in on this post. I know you are trying to find out about the sail panels fitting in.

Oh man, I HATE it when people say crap like "Why dont you spend the money on speed!!" You have NO IDEA how much money I make, and you have no idea what I haev under the hood. I could go out and buy a 4th gen Z if I felt like it, but I DONT WANT ONE, nor do I like the exterior styling as much as I do of the thirdgens. I've already spent plenty of money on power, its just not installed yet, lol. Different people have different goals bud, just deal with it.

For those of you looking for more info or pics, please do a search. There are lots of posts with lots of good info and even pics. Try a search first on '4th gen dash' and look for a post by sofa king. He has done alot of research and work on this.

As far as 'just buy a 4th gen' and 'thats just a fad' or something like that, I dunno why you getting all worked up. I prefer the exterior of a 3rd gen to a 4th gen. And I prefer the interior of a 4th gen to the interior of a 3rd gen. Its my personal preferance. And if I want to take my own time to buy the parts and do the mod on my own for my own personal enjoyment, then thats up to me. It is my car after all, right? I dont care if other people do it. I dont care if its a bolt in mod. For me, its the best of both worlds so I'm gonna go for it.

How much money I have or how fast my car is has nothiong to do with it man.

Yea I did a search after posting to this and found that website that has the pics on it along with the sofa king's post. Thanks for the info though.

However I agree... I definately like the exterior of a 3rd gen better then the 4th gen, and also like the interior of a 4th gen better then a 3rd gen. Why not have the best of both worlds.

I won't say that you can't put the fourthgen interior panels in a thirdgen, but if you take a look at them and compare them to how ours' are designed, you'd see that it wouldn't be a cakewalk. Heck, custom panels from scratch would probably be easier.

that buy a 4th gen comment is absolutely the most annoying thing i read about the interior modding. the people who say that are the ones who couldnt do the dash swap. its not a direct bolt in, it takes some brains and customization. if your too scared to try it and throw out the buy a 4th gen comment, do others a favor and keep it to yourself. people like crazy hawaiian and pennyless and others can see that modding your car to your liking is your own thing, if you want to do it, then do it if you like it. if someone else thinks they should have a 4th gen just to have the dash, they are just what pennyless's pic says (i almost fell out of my chair laughing when i read that). i put the dash in my car because i liked the look of the newer dash, but have put so much time into the engine and body work of my car i wouldnt sell it and buy a 4th gen just for the freakin dash. that and this was my first self owned and paid for car, then did all motor/tranny/rear end mods with my own two hands, there was no way i was letting it go because i didnt like the dash. also about the plastic panels, no they arent going to work without chopping them up, ive had em in my car to see if it would be doable, in the long run, i stuck with the original pieces.

btw, crazy h., how is your dash swap comming along now?

Thanks for the reply sofa king, and everyone else.

I see now they won't work. I woulda been nice though

Yeah, and all that just go buy a 4th gen comments are full of crap. A 4th gen looks just like every other car on the road. Stick a 4th gen Camaro beside a Sebring and see if anyone can tell the difference. Now, the Trans Am on the otherhand.... If I had all the money in the world I would still keep my Thirdgen, or another thirdgen, or a few thirdgens They are extremely unique in apperance and they are becoming more rare by the day. Who cares if I won't get all the money out of my car that I put into it. A car isn't an investment, is a labor of love.

WTF is that about? Just cause it ain't gonna bolt up doenst mean its not gonna work. Maybe if I can pick up the panels for cheap we can try it out when my car is under the knife

Hey Sofa King!! The swap hasn't begun yet but I almost have all the pieces I need. I will be upgrading to a 2000 Trans Am interior (black). I'll go crazy with a digicam when I finally get the rest of the pieces (waiting on console...). Maybe if we combine the pics and info from both our swaps we can make a tech article for the website.
