Theres a place in Dallas that stocks the center caps NEW!! They are $22.00. As far as restoration I have no idea. Especially since they are plastic. That simple fact doesn't lend a whole lot of options for reconditioning.

If this is the black center cap (82'-87'), then it's cheaper to buy them by the set of 4. Get the aftermarket ones. They come off easier than the GM ones, but they're a ton cheaper, and the GM ones come off so easy it isn't worth the difference.

I looked into finding a set that locks in place, but they don't make them for our cars.

Just though you might want to know.....

Hey I just bout a complete set of new Aftermarket caps with correct emblems off of ebay for $42.00 for the set. Course there is $8.00 in freight but thats alot better than the $189.00 I spent on the factory caps & emblems. Ill just keep that factory ones in the boxes for future use.

I believe some of the originals used silicone as glue for the center emblem onto the cap itself...

Yeah, I don't know how accurate this guy was, but there's a local shop near me that specializes in Camaro and Corvette parts only, and he ordered me a complete set of 4, with decals for $50, which seems to be about going rate for an aftermarket set of these.

The guy told me, GM wants $100 for a set of 4, and then an additional $40 for the decals ($10 apiece). I don't know if that pricing is correct, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Actual costs on GM caps ( part # 12514403 ) are $32.20 each plus each center emblem that is ( part # 10037816, with the gold bird ) $11.59 each. makes the set $175.16 without your state & local taxes.
