Fixing Your Vents Question

I followed the tech article on how to fix the vents. I have them out of the car.

My question is - do I just need the velco piece, and in the article? Or do I need to attach another to the actual dash where the vent goes in?

When I look at the vent, it looks like there are two pieces to the factory part of this. Yet the tech article says to replace with the velco.

So my question, if it makes any sense is, do I just put the one piece of velco on each side of the vent and leave it be?

Thanks

It's been a while since I looked at the article, but I think the intent of the velcro is to add material in order to add some friction and prevent movement. In the past, I have added a rubber washer on the little post on one side of the vent in order to keep it from falling down.

The third option is that I don't remember the article at all and am thinking of a completely different vent-related problem...

I Just used the soft fuzzy part of the velcro...stuck to the part of the vent that you take out..one piece on each end, just behind the mount post. I also scraped off the gunky original stuff. Works good so far A friend of mine did the same thing with his RS and it worked for him too.
