that actually is a spoiler.
IMO, the only "spoiler" that looks like spoiler that looks any good on these cars is either the GTA spoiler, or the 91-92 Z28 spoiler. I'm not very partial to those with picnic tables on the back.

Unbolt it, throw it into a dark corner, weld up the holes, fit another spoiler, and, er,.............................. repaint it all!
Expensive! But worth it!

This is kinda off topic but it confuses me....
I had a 87 V8 SC and it had the brake light in the spoiler like bubbakutz just posted, and had taillights with a single line through it.
My buddy around the corner has a 87 v6 SC with the brakelight high on the top of the hatch and the taillights like Jaboski has.
Not important but just confusing, what cars got what?? lol

Hi bubbakutz
I have a 5 litre V8 1986 SC. Like you, I am a sport coupe kinda guy!!
There may be something you can help me with! I bought mine in the UK in 1994. Within a few weeks, I started to modify it (like change it from white to red, pull the engine etc-see the "lowcamaro" link in my sig.). Well, now I cannot remember what the engine used to look like! I have hundreds of photos of the car as it used to be, but none of the engine as it used to be! Without going to too much trouble, is there any chance you can post or e-mail me a photo of your engine bay? Thanks for anything you can send me!
Jaboski;
Which spoiler do you want to use? Are you under the impression that the bit in your photo that you pointed to cannot be removed?

Wow! Superb!
Thanks bubbakutz.
That is exactly what I wanted. Perhaps not in that quantity(!), but, a good surprise nevertheless!
You are a gentleman! Can I have your permission to put one or two of your photos on my web site? I promise to mention you on there!
That is almost exactly what my engine bay used to look like back in 1994!
Attached is a photo of my engine bay now!
Thanks again.
Andy.

Exactly the same as it was before!
When it was stripped down in 1994 (64 000 miles), it showed negligible wear, so all we did was to hone the cylinders and change the main and big end bearings (oh, and phosphor bronze valve guides). Luckily the car had a good service history, with loads of oil changes (from Sacramento, CA). It has now done 66000 miles! 2000 miles in 8 years! Works out to about 250 miles a year! Oh dear, what a waste of a car! But it is my (sorry, OUR) car!!
Interestingly, I bought this car a few months after I met my Wife to be. 3 days before her 26th birthday in fact. 8 years later, the car is still with us, and in a far, far, far better condition than it was then. So this car has grown with us (and through the birth of our first son, and the birth of our next offspring-whatever that is, sometime in the next 2 and a bit weeks! So, you see, this car will probably stay with us forever! However long that is!
How long has your car been with you?
Andy.

Spoiled Spoilers
Just my two cents, but the Lamborghini Countach wing is the best spoiler of all time while the Porsche Turbos are all right, I was always a fan of those HUGE IMSA side and rear racing panals for years!
Of course, you see big spoilers on a Honda Fu&@in' Civic these days!
The bolt on craze for low-rider rice rockets has been pretty sad.
The most amusing fact being a front wheel drive car has no need for a spoiler and most aren't effective until 60MPH or more comes into play

Why didn't you remove your 3 piece spoiler? Is it 'cos of the bodywork and paintwork required?
How far have you got with the air suspension?
Andy.

BTW, that purple camaro isn't my car, i just didnt have a picture that showed the back end like that one did, i have an black 86 iroc, but same thing. So they just come right off from bolts, and i just patch up the holes and re-paint and im set to go? I have a 2" cowl induction hood coming in and i was wondering (im still a young kid) what the hell the cowl induction does, and does the steam that comes out going to fog my windows up?????

induction
The reverse style 'hood scoop' you are referring to?
I took the metal plate off the back of my factory Formula hood scoop and have never had a situation like windows fogging from the engine. This still vents air into the engine, but I left mine unblocked because of initial heating problems during the summer.
Seems to run better now with no stalling out in park, as it did when I bought it.
