Hey Guys,

My bro has a 92 FZR600, and he wants to upgrade from his analog speedo to a digital one. He said that the local bicycle shop (that's right, not motorcycle) shop has one for sale that somebody on an FZR board has installed.

Now how it works is that a small magnet is attached to the inside of the wheel and a counter to the fork. The thing has a small computer (where you can enter the tire circumference I suppose) that counts the number of wheel revolution and converts it to MPH.

Now my question is has anybody done this on a car? My car's speedo cable is gone, and the sender is messed up so would this thing work? (it's 40$ from what bro said) I could put the counter on the caliper.

I don't see why it wouldn't work if you put it on and wired it up?

About the sig, it would be kind of hard to steal seeing as she is missing an engine at the moment

 

So you attach this to your wheel. And it is going to stay on while going over 60mph.

 

Well, he said they've put it on a motorcycle before and it worked... I imagine that motorcycle goes over 60 once in a while
