Funny you say that when just a couple nites ago my friend had me drive his black LX 5.0 5 speed around town. He wasn't even in the car, just gave the keys to me and said follow. Then I did a little burnout and I thought he might be pissed....he was behind me. When we got to where we were going he hugged me and said thank you! I always wanted to see what my car looked like when it was doing a burnout.
I guess it's my driving history that's more important. Only got a speeding ticket for 73 in a 55 on the Penn Turnpyke, that's after 4 years of driving nothing but bright red thirdgens!!!
Sorry to hear about your car, what's the damage gonna cost to get repaired and how did it happen?

that sucks, looks like it is only the hood. gives you an excuse to get some big killer hood.
no one drives my car or bike unless I'm in the car or i am watching them when they are riding the bike, just don't trust anyone. accedents happen, but it still sucks.
keep us informed.

My back had been hurting after a 2 hour drive up to Skyline drive, so I let him drive one of the legs of the cruise. About 5 minutes later, everyone went to stop, a few cars swerved, and he locked the brakes up and slid into the back of an '03 GT. It messed the hood up, cracked my front bumper cover, messed up the entire headlight assembly, crushed my electric fans, bent one of the radiator support brackets, and now the pass. side door is creaking when you open/close it. I was planning on taking my car off the road after yesterday anyway to drop the new shortblock in it, so he's going to pay for the other guys car first and then he's going to pay to have all my stuff fixed and get me hooked up with a guy who can paint my whole car for me.

Sucks man, I'm sorry to hear about that. But at least it's fixable and you'll get a paintjob out of it.
i bet he feels really bad!
sorry that your car is messed up though
i let my friend drive my 1988 formula 350 only because it was already wrecked when a girl hit me, so i let him drive it for 10 miles to my other friends house he had fun i said he could do anything he wanted, he went 115 in a 45 and he did not even have his liscense yet
o well he almost hit a car but slammed those four wheel disk brakes and stopped within a few feet..
i said had enough fun yet, after that he parked it and gave the seat back to me..
p.s dont let ur friends drive your car unless they can pay the bill if something happens..

Update:
That support brace that runs all around the front end (the one that the radiator support brackets bolt onto) is twisted all up, which is causing the pass. side fender to be pushed back into the door. That grey plastic piece that runs across the front end is also busted up. Looks like it might be cheaper to find a new body than to repair the damage

Man, that's a drag. I feel your pain, though. I used to own a black 5.0 LX too and I bought it cheap from a guy who hit something with the driver's side of the front end. Basically, looked like bumper and headlight damage only...."Easy and cheap to fix" I thought. WRONG. Best of luck & keep us posted.

Friends let friends DRIVE FAST!!
Hey
This didn't result in an accident, but I was giving my work buddy Jeremy rides to work and as often was the case...we were under the wire and I had happen to let him drive my 1989 350 TPI bird that day...
Once on the freeway and the expresslane...totally free of traffic we opened up the factory L98 to 130 MPH!!!
Man, I was the passanger and it was a gas! (hope the statutes have run out since then! hehe)
