seats from new camaro in old one?
My brother owned a 1987 IROC Z and the seats in it were the ones that actually had "camaro" written on them. they were red, and the writing was white. did this come stock or did someone put these in the car from a newer one. Also would i be able to find those seats, in a blue. if so would they fit into a 1984 Camaro Z28. if so, anyone have some for sale? i can imagine that the seat posts would be pretty much the same, if not exactly the same. but any info would help. thanks!
This is actually the first time i have ever heard of someone asking if a 3rd Gen seats could be swapped into a 3rd Gen.....

Yes you can.......
The seats that proudly proclaim the car is a camaro are in fact stock seats, I'm not aware of any blue color, though someone may prove me wrong.....

The seats with "CAMARO" all over them were the premium seats available between 82 and 85. They were somewhat rare. They were available in blue. My cousin had a blue 83 Z28 with the blue contour interior.

i just meant the one word, camaro, not a million. And i think it just said camaro in kinda the top left of the seat.. or was it the right? anyways, if anyone has a set in half decent condition, let me know.

some idiot was raving that if you took seats out of a 4th gen you have to take the floor pan with it... is this true? They said on thirgen resource.com that you dont need to.. i think that was the site.

ok, then he also went on saying that Brake Fluid (DOT 3) is a good thing to use to clean the engine area. alternator, etc. AND he said that when you paint things, like the alternator braket or something, you should use testors paint and put it in the oven for 20 mins at 450.... true or false?

i think his name was z28 racer or something. obvioulsly that is the stupidest thing in the world so i wont believe that. but what about the baking in the oven thing? to cure the paint.

It couldn't hurt. But I don't think electrical parts would like that knid of heat. Well I guess they get hot anyway. I have painted lots of engine part, including alternators and have never had a problem as long as you use high temp paint.

You could buy a heat gun to help with the drying process, just don't get to close or stay in one spot to long or you will burn the paint.
