Carpet off the interior pieces GLUE WONT GIVE

Got a replacement interior piece and I'm trying to take the carpet off because the rest of mine did not have carpet.... What should I use to get this gluey crap off? It's like rubber cement mixed with snot and I can't seem to get it all off...

I had to do this once and if or when ya get the carpet off no amount of cleaning will make it look the same the glue is like permanent you'd probably have to sand some of it off. I used my hands and just ripped and on the really tough spots i got some pliers and pulled. I took the carpet off to use as a template so i could carpet some other panels so i wasent worried about the carpeted panels being ruined. Maybe some goo gone and a putty knife would help.

3M makes an adhesive remover that seems to work pretty good.It comes in a 4"wide x 5"high 1 1/2"thick black can, applies by towel or however you want to apply it with.Just scrape the glue off while the remover is still wet because it dries quick.I think that there is a spraycan version but not sure.

I just used a small paint scraper to get the bulk of it off, then follow the directions on the can of Tuff Stuff. No problems at all. Can't even tell there was ever anything there.
