What kind of 5 point harness?

If I wanted to not add a roll cage for now and just put in a 5 point harness what do I do?

You will have to get one for a floor mount. Instead of mounting to the bar, it will mount to the floor behind your seat. not the best way to do it. They should be mounted to something more substantial than your floor pan....

Phil is right. FLoor mount is what you have to do. THey do say that it is not the safest way but...anything is safer the factory I would think. Here's some pics of mine in my Monte SS.

I wouldn't mine some of them too. I'm putting a cage in so I don't have to worry about the floor mounting. But are there 4-point belts? I don't really like the one bewteen your legs. Bad experience while back, lol

How much the belts go for?

But than it gets in the way, Yea, lets just say there was some "squishing" going on the last time I was in a belted car, lol

Buddy - "Don't worry, these belts will keep you in the same position all the time, no matter how fast I'm going"

Me - "Not worried about that...I'm worried about....OWW"

Buddy - "Oh sh*t...you ok?"

Me - "You sum' b*tch!"

mine is an rjs camlock cage mount, but it is mounted to a cage, pls remember that your supposed to have the shoulder strap(s) mounted a certain degree above your shoulder (20 degrees IIRC), otherwise, in an accident, instead of restraining you against the seat, your body is thrown forward and the straps compress your spine. Obviously, thats a bad thing. I guess the monte and floor mounts in general would be alright if the straps were attached in such a way that they couldn't come off the seat back(s).

Try not to skimp on safety equipment.
