I was wondering, did all TPI cars come with the 'tuned port injection' badge on the rear? My car doesn't have one. Its a 91 Z28. BTW, the plate is photoshopped if anyone was wondering.

 

Yep-tuned port fuelinjection for the 305 and 5.7 is in front of that if you have the 350.

 

Some of them also came with a "5.7TunedPortInjection" i believe. Same with the decals below the rocker emblem. Mine came with the 305 so it says just the TunedPortInjection on the rear of the car and below the rocker emblem. This could just be for the Irocs, don't really know-sorry.

 

and they stopped putting the tpi stickers on the rocker panel in '88.

 

the person that owned the car before you might have taken it off.

the one on my 87 is horribly discolored, and it looks like it's hardly staying on.. so for the car to look nicer, they probably just took it off... perhaps..

 

Hey Mike, yeah, my 91 didn't have the "5.7 Tuned Port Injection"
emblem on the rear bumper either when I bought it. I think mine has been repainted.......so...they just didn't get another to replace it. I wenn up to Weidner Chevrolet in Anderson and ordered one for about $25.00....

I thought they stopped put the decals on the ground effects starting in 91....?? I might be wrong...but I know the 91's or 92's don't have them....

All the TPI Irocs got the decals on the rocker under the badge, and all TPI car got TunedPortInjection for 305 and 5.7TunedPortInjection for the 350. I forget what year, but the Irocs also had the IROC-Z decal on the door moved from the front to the back. My friends 1LE was missing the rocker decal on one side, and the 1LE had no door moulding, or door decals, he added those too.

 

91-92 Z's nevewr came with the decal on the rocker

 

What really sux is the 91-92 Z's came with their emblems body color, along with the rims. When i had the car painted i replace all the faded red emblems with all new silver ones from the dealer. I also stripped and polished and painted the inserts of the rims with a silver metallic paint.

 

Mine has no decal under the badge on the rocker. 87 was the last year for that I believe.

 

It was definetly 90... my 89 didn't have them on there either, but I am 100% sure they weren't there due to morons painting.
