How to get stickers & emblems off

Well people I gone and done something I later am regretting. I put Chevy bowties from autozone on my ground effects right in front of my rear wheels. They are red and I have since decided I want them off. Whats the best way to take the adhesive off without hurting the NEW PAINT.

Can't belive I was so dumb to put those on new paint

To remove plastic emblems stuck with tape I have used dental floss and a sawing action to cut right through. You can remove the gunge with isopropyl alcohol (get from an eletronics supplier) - it doesn't harm paintwork.

For flat stickers it's tricky - if it's plastic coated or completely plastic you will just have to carefully peel it off. If it's vinyl or something else soak with isopropyl and it should turn to a gunge.

Any leftover glue can be soaked with isopropyl and scraped/wiped off.

I've removed decal residue and a dealers emblem from a ex-cop Chevy Caprice leaving no damage (well, except from when the cops took the original decals off )

heat gun is a little hotter but to save yourself a drive use a hair dryer it'll work fine.

I do this for a living so listen up....

If a hair dryer is good enough, then a heat gun is fantastic! Go with the heat gun, just don't burn the paint...use a back and forth motion...kinda like a spray gun with paint. Yes....a hair dryer will work. Call a local sign shop....they should have a plastic putty knife kinda lookin' thing that will peel the vinyl without hurtin' the paint. DO NOT use metal.

In my opinion alcohol isnt worth the time....although it is safe. Use a adhesive remover from lowes or home depot, but read the directions as to whether or not it's safe. some are, some are not.

Hope this helps.
