I was wondering, does anyone know the best way to paint interior plastic parts? I dont think you can really sand them, because of the texture on them, so what can you do to make the paint stick well? Whats the best type of paint to use?

I just rubbed mine down well with paint thinner prior to shooting. No problems yet after two years.

This is going to sound funny and someone may disagree with this, but, for my plastic piece around the gauges (91 Firebird, the one with four large circles), I primed it with normal old automotive primer, which looks very crappy initally, but I hand sanded the CRAP out of it until it was smooth as a baby's butt, and then I applied several coats of high-temp engine paint. I used that for a few reasons: A.) I already had some, and I wanted it to match the "CAI" I made and painted with that paint. B.) I figured if it could stand 500 degree temperatures, it should be pretty resistant to peeling

If you're afraid to do it though, there's nothing wrong with picking up spare interior pieces at a junkyard in case you don't like what you did...

Here's a pic.

Yep, for the most part.. it's less defined but still there. I'm assuming you're talking about the little "grid" things and such?
