part out or sell?

my brother blew a head gasket in his 87 camaro lt. he decided to just give up on it, and bought a new car. someone he goes to school with wants to fix it for him, so he told him he would do it for $100 plus parts. should he have him replace the head gasket and sell the car, try to sell the car as it is, or part it out? the interior is in pretty good shape with 93 grey/black camaro seats, the rims are 15" firebird rims with decent tires. he also has iroc gfx, rear bumper, and complete front end that we were getting ready to put on before he blew the head gasket.

Its a huge pain in the *** though. I learned that the hard way... I wish I just sold my old car instead of going thru the parting out hassle.

If all it needs is a head gasket then you just pop the heads off, slap a gasket on there and reassemble...

Doesnt a running car sound better then parts? Id fix it and keep it/sell it

Why not buy it from your brother and fix it up yourself? Sounds like the makings of a nice project.

I would buy it back from him, finish our gfx conversion, and drop a 350 in it, but i'm broke and we don't really have room for it. right now it's sitting in our backyard, probably stuck all winter until the snow clears up.

Id say if your gonna sell it, go ahead & fix it because a running car is easier to sell that a parts car. Good Luck
