Drivers side mirror wrong side
I have a right-hand drive Camaro because I live in Australia. My problem=I am in the right hand seat looking out the now passenger seat window to view the mirror. My mirror has gone wonky and doesnt adjust. It is the type with the manual switch just inside the window. The switch doesnt work properly. My idea is to replace the guts of the mirror with a new set. I have set the mirror in place manually and secured it with rubber and the angle is quite dramatic. Will the adjustable mirror adjust enough to let me see from the right-hand drivers seat or would I be better to get a totally manual mirror? Probably a too hard a question? Would there be more angle adjustment in a manual or adjustable manual? Is this clear at all?
Why not just go on ebay or the like and get a pair of power adjustable ones. Since most of the ones you can get (over here at least) are LHD, then just plug them in L-R ports R-L instead. That would give you adjustable mirrors, easy to retrofit, and power to boot!
Of course they will fit too, because they are MADE for that car!
Hope this helps,

So you've got the manual adjustment **** on there now? I wonder if the clip fell out of the back of the "joystick". Without the clip, when you move the adjustment stick, the whole stick moves inside the door panel, and doesn't move the mirror. Pop that plastic panel off (just the little rectangle that holds the joystick), and look at the back. There should be a little piece of metal that covers the back of the joystick, holding it to the plastic panel.

The joystick does attempt to move the mirror a little but not nearly what is expected. I will however check for that on the back side of the panel. On the note about the power window: How hard is it to convert to power from manual? I suppose that would really come in handy for the now drivers side mirror also. I do have spare guts for an 83 Berlinetta but the brackets on it are different from mine. They look exactly the same from the outside but when you open it up they are different behind. Thanks for future advice
