What year t-tops will fit my 91?

Is it the 87 and up? I want to buy some glass t-tops to replace my lexan ones, just dont want to buy some that wont work. Also, will Firebird t-tops work on my Camaro? Thanks

anything after 83 should fit up....there were a few slight variations but they arent that common. and the bird tops should fit as well.

Are you sure? Cause I thought that 86 and earlier hooked in and the 87 and later pinned in. Not sure though.
What does everybody think of mirrored t-tops?

IIRC 82-84 got hooks, 85+ had pins. Keep your lexan ones. I ran my 91 this summer with glass ones in and regretted it. The darker tint of the lexan tops kept the car much cooler. So much so that I am ready to sell my glass ones.

anyone know the details on the lexan ones? I have heard about them forever, but ive never actually seen a car that had them.

this leads me to believe it was a regional thing, and they werent sold on cars up here in new england because ive never seen any. It would make sense with all the snow and ice in the winter time up here, the lexan would get scratched to hell.

first off my cousin has an 88 iroc with glass tops, and his wont fit on my or my other frinds '91 camaro, His has differant pins, in slightley differant spots.

I have lexon and I live in minnesota (lots of snow) but I dont drive in the winter.

Having the lexon is nice beauce they are darkier and lighter, but the glass ones wont skratch. I would like t o get glass ones and tint the insides of them.

When looking for new tops, look for ones the are 1985 or newe r and have the same size pin as what you have in your car now.

it's not the glass/lexon that will make a differnace in it fitting, it is the pin. make sure it is the same pin as what you allready have.

not true...........the real difference was how the pin RECEIVERS were adjusted

i took lexan tops off my 91 and put them on my 87
i had to adjust the recievers

i took the glass tops off my 87 and put them on my 91
again , i had to adjust the receivers

I would not do that if I were you. If you tint the glass ones, and they get really hot, the tint will trap heat and they will possibly explode. This has been discussed many times on the boards, and most ppl will tell you the same. Just wanted to warn you.

How did you adjust them? Was it hard?

just look for the 2 little black bolt-headed screws

just loosen the screws and move the receivers around until everything fits

well, i have used some glass ones from my old 84 on my 92...and the lexan ones from the 92 to the 84...they needed a little adjusting, but both worked fine.....the only thing was, the ones from 84 didn't have locks, were heavier and got alot hotter..
