Modifying fender to fit convertible...
Does anyone have the shop manual/technique for modifying fenders to fit convertibles? The lower brace behind the tire needs to be removed, and a b race needs to be added infront of the inner door. All this being on the acual fender itself.

DO oyu mean quarter panels? cause the fenders are in the front and the dog house is the same between converts and hard tops...

Nope... where the bottom rear brace of the front fenders bolt up on standard cars has to be removed due to the chassis supports of the convertible. Ill see if I can get some pics.
yeah, they are different. i have a coupe fender and a convertible with a dent, but when i was doing the GFX change, it was getting late (and cold) so i decided to save the fender for later. but i did notice that the bracket is not at the bottom, but coming out from the inner surface of the fender near the door.
the best thing to do might be to have a shop weld the old brace or a suitable replacement if it's not very complex (i don't remember) into the new fender and then cut off the bottom one

There is a guy on the boards (can't think of his name for some reason) that converted his hardtop to t-tops then to a convertible it is pretty tricked out flames and the works he would be excellent to attempt to contact for info on this.

Your thinking of Fatal88. 2 problems with that: 1, he's acually using the entire front end of a 4th gen, but has 3rd gen fenders on it. 2, beings that he converted his car to convertible, he doesent have the factory bracing that gets in the way, which was put there by ASC.
