broken door handle
its about 2 degrees here in good ol' rhode island, and as i went to open my car door this morning (yes, i use my car as a daily driver, even during winter). and, i broke the end closest to the back of the car. this is a real annoyance, because now i have to go in my passenger side door. would this be easy to fix without making a project out of it, since it is alomst subzero temperatures outside? or should i just bring it to a shop to have it done?

Basically what you will need to do is take off the door panel, armrest, upper door panel trim, and door handle trim. Then with a 10mm socket and ratchet you can take off the two wing nuts holding on the door handle and then put a new or used one on and reinstall the latch release rod. You may need to get a new clip to hold it in place or put a crap load of tape to keep the rod from slipping out of the handle as a tempoary fix. Then check to make sure everything will work properly and put everything else back on the door. Since its cold as hell and this would probally take up to 5 hours then I would take it to a reptuable interior or upholstory shop.
