where can a guy get a roll bar?

we were thinking of putting in a chrome roll bar for astetic value, the car is black cherry with polished torque thrust wheels and thought the bar would help set off the looks of the interior

bad decision?

thanks, skip

i think that putting a roll bar in the car that is not functional is silly. i can't understand how one would want just the "look" but i do understand wanting safety with style. if i were you, i woul talk around to local machine shops and shops that do welding and see about getting a functional one with chrome tubing. just my .02

well mr nova i apparently should have worded that differently

so..........i want a chrome rollbar instead of a black painted one so it will also set off the looks of the car as well as be functional

better?

i hope the chrome, aluminum intake and paint i did under the hood was'nt a silly move

but, yes i have considered having one made but was hoping i could order one that fits the car well, hopefully a four point bar

your best bet is to buy one from like kenny brown or other place on the net like that and then have it chromed

but as far as Iknow you need to weld in the pipes INSIDE the car so doing that to a chrome pipe might not be a good idea as I think you'll have to grind off some of the chrome (I guess you could easily cover up the corners  )

I just never heard of someone putting in a roll bar that's already in one piece. Although I suppose it would be possible if you took out the seats (that you'll have to take out anyway) , kinda slide it in from the side, then have a helper help you push the 4 point bar back until it's in place , yeah I guess that would be doable and you wouldn't have to mess up the nicely chromed pipes that you just paid big bucks for , lol

I have been looking for a 2 pt. basically a headache bar. not for the safety factor but to tie everything together. I have a convertible, every little bit helps. chrome would be nice too.
