hatch leak

i have an '87 camaro and whenever it rains or when i wash it, the hatch always fills up with water, i drilled a hole to let the water out, but it didn't fix it, does anyone else have the same problem, or know how to fix it?

The best way to find where the leak is comming from is to take out all the rear int pieces, then get inside the hatch and have someone hose down the rear hatch from the outside. You should be able to tell where the water comes infrom. I bet you have a rotted out deck lid to rear glass seal. Or there are these plastic things on the rear hatch, if the glue goes out on them water and lots of it can get up and in thru them. I'll attach a pic of that. Its a crappy pic but gives you the location of what I'm talkin about.

Good luck, leaks are a pita to find and fix. The little plastic piece I attached was letting in tons of water into my hatch. If your are able to pull it up from the decklid then I'd take it off and put tons of weatherstripping adheasive or silicone on it. I used weatherstripping adheasive on mine.

yep, it was getting a whole bunch of water in there, one time it had like 3 inches in the bottom, but it looks like there is a plastic thing like that on both sides, and there are watermarks right there in the carpet, so i am pretty sure that's what it is but i haven't got around to fixing it yet, but thanks a lot!
