Ok, so I am in the midst of a full custom interior and am stuck on the doors. I have a 92 camaro with the stock gray vinyl door panels on the top and the carpet on the bottom. They definetly have to changed or something. I wanted to redo the vinyl, but because of the armrest and crap that would be hard if not impossible (or so I think??). A couple friends from college who are artists say that I could paint them. They said that since there is no movement of the actual vinyl panels that they wouldn't crack as long as I did it right.... I have no idea if this will work or if it will ruin my door panels...anyone with ideas or done this???

 

hmm.. well it depends on what kind of paint they use, if they use like paint they use on paper and wood, hmm.. i dont think that'd look too good, and also i believe it would crack, my friend came up with a stupid but rather smart idea to PAINT his seats and all his interior, i doubted him the whole time, when he was finished, i went to his place, i thought it was brand new interior, it looked awesome, you couldnt even tell it was spray painted, lol, sounds stupid, but it could be done, but if done crappy, then it will look crappy, i'd prolly have second thoughts about soemone painting mine tho
