I think they look pretty nice on some cars...and I agree..I'm not big on the interior neons. Plus.....they give you a reason to go cruizin at night
i dont have them in my firebird i need to finish my project of 2.8 to 350 with th350 trans but i have them in my other car its a 95 saturn sl2 4 door i dont have any pics but ill tell you what it has 4 10" tubes one under each side of the dash and under the seats it gives the floor a nice glow, a 10" on the rear deck, glowing dice and 2 20" tubes one above each back door also led scaners on the windsheild wipers (night ryder look) all of my neons are blue street glows and the car glows like a big blue bug zaper going down the road i realy like my neons and plan to do them in my firebird

The only neon I'm having on my car is the Knight Rider 'scanner' on the front bumper. But I do agree, they can look good on some cars, if done right.

Hey those arent illegal arent they? Ive heard that the exterior ones under the car are. To me, if its true, is why the hell something like that would be illegal? Alls it does it makes cars look better in most instances, whats so wrong with that?

....Same in Virginia. They are illegal to have on while driving w/ the exception of private parking lots. Someone also told me that you could have em' on while in residental areas but I think thats a load of crap. Anyways, I can't wait to put one on my car.

in maryland their illegal to have them on while the car is in motion.i have them on my car & i really like them.to me illegal is the best part of it!!!
alot of nights i run the car with them turned on.
alot of nights i run the car with them turned on. I kind of like them. Where would you put them? Up under the chassis where the light hits the ground, but you can't see the light itself? I think some blue ones would look good on my white GTA. I guess you could wire a switch under the dash or somthing to turn them off and on right? I don't think they're illegal here in Oklahoma. I see them around every once in a while. There's things in Oklahoma that are legal here and not anywhere else. Like cockfighting and catfish noodling. Surely I can have some neon lights on my car! I think they look dumb when they're IN the car, but good underneath when they make a nice even glow on the street. Matt

I just bought a neon underbody kit off ebay 61 bucks... 2 38 inch tubes and 2 48 inch tubes neon blue. They mount under the car, have brackets, and a transformer, and a wiring kit with on off switch its hott...
the biggest thing with neons is to mount them so that you CAN'T see the tubes, all you want to see is the glow of coming off the ground, thats looks the best, so many ricers around here just mount them on the bottom of their rocker panels and bumpers and you can see the damned tubes and it looks like ***.

Yes, I agree, they can look good on the interior and exterior... just so long as you can't see the frickin' bulbs.
They are illegal because it distracts other drivers on the outside and on the inside its a distraction to the driver and at night visability goes down with a light on inside the car. At least thats how its explained to me.
Neons are illegal because of the colors. If you have red, blue or even purple you are giving the impression that you are the police (from a distance other people in traffic only see the colors).
I think if your car isn't able to attract enough attention by itself without neons then you need to work on it a little more. Thats all neons are for...attracting attention. I think they're ok if you have a show car but street cars or cruisers shouldn't have them. In fact we tease Jeff (Kandied91z) about his all the time. We call him "disco Stu" because of all the lights he has

would just like to say, I never use mine on the road, ever, full stop.
they are tastefully applied to the vehicle, all tubes hidden, all wires encased in stock looking conduit.
Jeez, Of course they are for attracting attention, why the h£ll do you drive a Thirdgen? You might as well drive a four pot generic.
