NEW interior/seat pics (8) inside!

Well, its been a while, and things are finally starting to fall inplace for the vert. Carpets steam cleaned, seats in, Hurst emblem put on... looks killer, and theyre comfortable as hell!

The marks on the upper sides of the seats are not blemishes... I removed the seatbelt guard to cut them. The are one piece from the factory so I gotta cut em open to use em...

New emblem. I think it adds a nice touch...

Close up of fabric...

The seats also give WAY more leg room for the front passengers. About 4-6" more! The power drivers seat works nice too. Overall, its probably the best appearance mod money Ive ever spent... its an easy cheap way to refresh that booring old interior!

I also posted this in Appearace/Detailing, in hopes that it might answer those pesky "4th gen seat question..." threads!

I put those same seats in my Sport Coupe. Those seats, with a black carpet, headliner and sail panels and gray plastic makes for a sharp interior.

Excuse the lack of door panels.

You have got to be the only guy with a vert that takes pictures of his interior with the top up.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Its funny how I found the emblem... I was at a local speed store getting copper header gaskets and BSin with the guys for a little while. On my way out, I glance over and see it in the case. I didnt think anything of it, but somethin made me go back and look at it. After that, I had to have it.

man, your interior looks awesome!

i just bought an '89 formula firebird. love it, but not enough room (i'm 6'5"). i've seen people switching to the 4th gen seats and it definitely looks like the way to go to me.

can you tell me what year and model your seats came from?

also, did you just mount your seats to the original brackets? if not, what did you use?

i saw where you said the seats went back 4-6" further ..... do they sit any lower? someone told me they'd used manual seats from a '96 camaro that had an adjustment for height. since yours are power seats, i'd think they'd probably sit a little higher than manual seats.

they go on ebay from $300-400 US, depending on condition and whether or not they're power.

I got lucky with mine and got a mint set off the ontario mod, power, for $250 canadian...

u gotta shop around... if you make visits to junkyards yourself you can get lucky and pick up a set as cheap as $100!

I got them for $350, which is a little higher than they usually go for... apparently, a few other people wanted to win that auction. But I live about 20 minutes from the place, so I saved about $100 on shipping... either way, I got a fairly good deal.

Hell, if I knew how good they looked, and how comfortable they were before I got them, I would have gladly paid $500. But then again, thats just me.

Seats look great. Did you get them on ebay from fparts in PA? I might have been the guy you were bidding against...lol. I just scored a set just like that from them for 400...a little more than I was hoping to spend, but they're just what I want, in good shape, and, like you, I'll pick them up myself and save the shipping. How'd the install go? Any tips you can pass along to save me any troubles? How'd the rear go in? I read conflicting posts on here about switching the fold down rear back for a one piece...some guys say you have to remove some mounts, others say no. How'd yours go? Thanks for the tips...seats look great...I'll post mine when its done!

Deemax, yeah I was the one bidding agains ya from the place in Brostol, PA.

As for installation, its pretty much straight forward... unbolt the old seats, put the new ones in. If your driver seat is power, ask them to cut a few feet of the harness off for you, they wont have a problem with it. Then just run the ground wire to the seat post, and the power wire to the 12v outlet on your fuse box. Mine work great!

u actually don't have to cut the harness

what did i do? i wired 1 wire from my fusebox underneath the plastic trim to the seat, stuck it in the hole on the left of the little thingy thingy. then took another wire and stuck it on the hole on the right of hte little thingy thingy and grounded it.

I was blessed with a great deal, thats for sure. I found a small town paint and body shop that had a few "spare" cars in their lot for parts. I found a 4th gen camaro and asked how much for the seats. They weren't a pull a part but the guy said they would rot in the car. So he sold them to me for $100.

There is a local pull a part here in my town were you can get the entire set for $35. Yep, thats not a typo, $35. Ask deadbird!

Trouble is they don't usually recieve 4th gen cars. Its usually much older than that. So its very hard to find them.

88 WS6 TransAm GTA,

the seats look great in your car. Look's sharp with the all grey interior. I've got the same seats in my car, mostly black interior with grey door & sail panels. I was considering selling them, cause I need the $$, but I dunno. If the right price came along I may LOL

The rubber is off the clutch pedal for a reason... racing. I would tell you exactly why, but then it wouldnt be my little secret, now would it?

Oh and the dash vents are in the glove box... they kept fallin out so I took em off so I dont lose them. A little super glue will fix that, once the temp goes above 22* outside.
