The ones SpeedFreak posted are reverse Indigo overlay's, exactly like the ones from the site that was posted in an earleier post, check the link he posted, I have seen them many times on EBay as well and they are from procarparts.

Yeah I just caught that about 5 min. ago, sorry about that, the only thing is that they are for the birds, and that doesn't help me much, that's why the extra $40 is worth it to us Camaro people. Just my .02 cents worth.

Correct. The auctions on Ebay are for indiglo gauge overlays like this:

The ones we are having made are like this:

As far as any of us know, the reverse style are not available anywhere for thirgen Camaros.

The automatic shift plate and heater/AC control box have been sent out but I have yet to get a response as far as if they're a go or not. Sorry for the delay in posting, guys... just letting you know it's still under way.

I need to know specifically which years these components cover, and again, if they're just for Camaros or if they cover Firebirds as well. The shift pattern is "P-R-N-OD-D-2-1", and the heater/AC box has "OFF - MAX - NORM - BI-LEV - VENT - HTR - defrost logo."

Yeah, they are only for Firebirds. I have contacted procarparts to see if they plan on making any for Camaros, have yet to receive a response.

Guys, I really need to know if anyone can confirm the auto shift plate design in their cars. I sent S/R Motorsports the one with P-R-N-OD-D-2-1. Is this the same plate in all 82-92 Camaros? Does it also cover Firebirds, or do they have a different auto shift plate?

Let me know, so I can email the final model specs

My 88 IROC has the same design as you are describing. HTH

I know that it does not cover all 82-92 Camaros, as the early years only had P R N D 2 1 or something like that. IIRC, the newer style started on the 86 or 87's. I am not sure, though.

Why dont you make a new thread asking people about that, and let me know when you do. I will make it a sticky for you.

Just to let you know I'm not ignoring you, I have a 5 spd. car. So I have no info on the automatic pattern.

Ok, I got an email from SR. My CC is being billed for the overlays. When I put the order in, it said that it was a total of $78. The email says it is almost $81. WTF? Anyone else get this email? I guess they will be shipping soon.

I got my email also, but I order the digital switch so mine end up being 93.99, but that is still more than I thought it would be. Any reason for this?

Me too. Is there shipping or insurance or just bad math on my part?

I just checked the site and it said that the basic package is 69.99 plus 8.00 for s/h. The total is 77.99. My CC was charged 80.99. Why the different price?

Alloy, can you make a phone call tomorrow and see what is going on?

Mine was also $80.99 but I opted for the $3.00 insurance.

I respect your opinion on eBay, but as an avid user/searcher for parts on eBay, I have YET to find a set like this one for the price. In fact, I have yet to find a reverse indiglo gague set for any Camaro. From the generic to the specific searches, nada.

Most of the stuff I buy on eBay is used and needs some TLC. When it comes to electronics (which are full of gremlins at the best of times), new with a warranty and a return policy is the ONLY way to go. TLC and wiring goblins just make me angry. In fact, wiring and its inevitable SNAFU's may make me talk like Grog again.... NOOOOOOOOOOOO

Well SpeedFreak,

As I am one that has redone my interior, and bought most of it on eBay, I definitely agree that in most cases, eBay is a good place to start, but the fact of the matter is, reverse indiglo gauges for camaros are NOT for sale on eBay, they don't exist anywhere but through this one company (that I have found anyway), so our choice is extremely limited. And I'm sure everybody here appreciates your input, but we all have Camaros so this is what we have to do. Consider yourself lucky, that they have them for as cheap as they do for your car

By the way

It looks like we share a common interest

Speedfreak,

I also respect your opinion, but we all thought this Ebay subject was settled days ago. Why stir this up again when you well know we can't get the reverse overlays anywhere else. All of us that are buying these have searched extensively, and having them made is our only option. And as Jeremy put in so perfectly earlier, the extra $40 is well worth it to us.

And something else important to us that you don't seem to understand is the fact that we as a group have gotten together and are having a brand new part made for our cars that would probably never been made without the efforts of the people here. I realize that this fact and $5 buys you a cup of coffee now days, but later when I see these show up on Ebay or somewhere else I'll know without my help and the help of others here, they might not have ever been made.

Guys,

I was also charged $96.99 for the overlays, extra touch pad, and insurance. Just a little fact for all of you, if they ship by UPS, ALL UPS SHIPMENTS are automatically insured for up to $100 without any extra charges. I added insurance because CW Racing's cluster is being shipped back to me, and I didn't want to have to try and find Cory another cluster and pay for it because I cheaped out by not buying insurance. So basically I spent the extra $3 to cover my butt in case of damage.

Anyway I know this about the UPS insurance because we have been UPS shippers for almost 5 years now.

I gotta question.... I am about to start working on an 86 ta and was wanting to know if a v8 5.0 305 has the 145mph gauge... I am not near the ta now because of college but am soon to be. I would be interested in the gauges and would like to know how easy installation is.... I know it might be a few weeks before you guys finally get to install them but I would like to hear all about them

Im almost positive, but these gauges are ONLY for camaros. Firebirds and camaros have different gauges. Go on ebay to find indiglo gauges for your model car. And note: these guages are REVERSE indiglo not indiglo theres a difference.

Well I'll say this for them, they are true to their word. It's been less than 4 weeks.

Mine aren't here yet. Was the shipment by UPS, Fed-X, or US mail???

Mine just arrived in the mail! Got my set and Cory's set in the same box, but not the cluster of Cory's I sent in.

If the cluster doesn't come in a day or two, I'll call and find out where it is.

Got mine today and already have the speedo and the tach done. Just trying to figure out how to attach the overlay to the tach and the other 3 little gauges. I am taking pics all the way through, and I will do a little write up on how to install. Remember to cut out slots for the tabs to stick out. I will post some pics later. Thomas

Just so you guys know, this should not be taken on by the faint-of-heart. It is NOT a simple task on our cars. Whiteboy Eric and I had to use some "glue" to hold the overlays on. We will see if it stands up to the heat. The only gauge that stays on by itself is the speedo. The rest are sort of friction fit. You will have to figure out where to run the wires and most likely have to do a little fabbing of the cluster housing.

What did you do to the metal gauge face for clearence for the ribbon connector? (The connector coming out of the overlay) The instructions say to make sure this isn't bent, or the gaurentee is void. I also tried slipping the tack overlay over the tach needle and oil pressure needle, and the hole for the oil pressure needle is really tight.

It looks like we will probably have to cut a notch into the metal gauge face for clearence?

I just took a look SR's web site and they only have the 115 and 145 mph overlays. I believe other companies make the 85mph versions, but not in reverse indiglo. Check Ebay for them.
