1971 firebird guage conversion

I'm trying to convert a 1971 firebird that has the basic clock/160mph speedo to a tach/speedo combo, the connection from the wiring harness is different than what I need for the tach combo. Does anyone know what the easiest way for me to do this conversion is?

Also if your looking for 70-73 parts, I have quite a few interior pieces in good condition email me with your needs.

Brad,
can you get the plug from the car your gauge pod came from? I did the same thing to my 81, but it already had a tach, I just upgraded to the 8K unit. You can trace the connections on the printed circuits, and move the wires in the plug accordingly. I am guessing that you will need a tach feed wire, though.

Thanks for the info Jon, is there somewhere I could get a wiring schematic for this, or is it gonna be a trial and error type thing?

service manual would be the best for schematic. I traced mine out, but it was a PITA. took a couple of hours.

thanks, I guess I'll be doing that over the next couple of days. Thats a lot of help, I was at the point of just ripping out all the wiring, and getting a painless wiring kit! (I'll probably end up doing that next year anyways)
