Holes in hoods

Hey!

I really want to get the ASCD big block hood:

But, it is completely closed up in the front. I would love for it to have a black grill like the SS hoods or the new Mustang GT's
Has anyone cut a whole in their hood and fabricated a grill? Any places in California that you guys know that would do this? What would you guys recommend. Because of this dillema, I may get an ASCD Iroc Turbo hood:

On a side note, can someone tell me how to post a picture. (The attache file button will only let me brouse for a picture, but how do I actually post it. (I need to post two pictures for this post)

Thanks!!

to attach the picture, go to attach, hit browse, find the pic, hit open, and the file name will go in the line down there and it will show up when you post, as for posting two at once im not sure, i think the pics have to be hosted on a site, but just post again with the second pic.

This is the hood I want:

Unfortuanately it's closed in the front. I know I can cut it open, but I'd like a black grill to cover the hole, like on the SS hoods. Does anybody have any ideas or has done this?

Here is my backup hood: (not too bad for a backup hood I have to say)

I bought the Daytona hood form ASCD and love the hood...

As for the cut out, if you're careful, I'm sure you can cut and fabricate what you want.

Part of the underside of my hood had to be trimmed so my wipers would work without rubbing anything. My father and I had to also use fiberglass patching material to put the mesh screens in along the sides of my Daytona hood.

No matter how you slice it, you will have to make some small mods to either hood.... You may also want to check:
http://www.usbody.com/

US Body has some other hood designs to offer.

One other tip about a fiberglass hood.... You will need to REPLACE you hood lifts (the factory ones were made for a metal hood that it MUCH heavier). You need the '83 hood supports for the composite hood GM used in '83... The ONLY place I found those supports for my hood was:
http://www.auto-parts-for-less.com/

No body locally had those supports (except the dealer and they were cheaper to order). That is also a good area to order the hood louvers if you go for the Turbo Daytona hood (as I originally got my louvers from Classic Industries and later for Auto-parts-for-less to be cheaper for the same part)....

Hope this helps you out!
