Another question: Where did you put the cigarette lighter plug? Did you delete it, or mount it somewhere else? Every time I look at that, I love it more and more!!!
You can get one of those Momo steering wheels for about $270. That's the cheapest price I have found. I forget what the site was. Do a search on Yahoo for Momo steering wheel. It comes up on top of the list. You also need the hub adapter kit and that's another $40. So, you're looking at around $310 + shipping for this wheel. Matt

I have answered the wheels question elsewhere.They were purchased here in the UK from www.imagewheels.co.uk
9x18" Front with 245/45x18" and 10x18"rear with 275/40/x18"
loads of grip with no rubbing.
As far as the steering wheel,I didnt buy a hub to go with it,I modified the original and made the aluminium cover to finish it off
There is no cig.lighter and the mirror switch is hidden in the console,under the armrest.
I will be putting a lighter in somewhere as its handy for charging cellphone etc

That specific steering wheel is called a Momo Millenium. Just thought some of you guys would like to know. I spent about 30 min trying to find it

Nice Job! I think you (or someone) could make a pretty good income just selling those aluminum rings to go around the gauges. Put me down for a set as well.

OMNI,
Its very difficult to advise somebody what to do with their car.Ive owned this TA for 14 years and ive spent over US$30,000 in that time and bear in mind that is just on parts alone,I have done all the manual work myself.
The other thing is that a lot of parts have come form the USA which by the time they reach this country and have various taxes added to them...well you know bleeding expensive.
For many year I ran it standard but one i started to modify,I couldnt stop.
Below are a list of the modifications carried out over the 14 years of ownership.
Engine Mods
========
Dart Sportsman Heads
Comp Cams cam and roller rockers
Cloyes true roller timing chain
Headman headers
SLP Cold Air Induction kit
SLP T.P.I. throttle body airfoil
Accel Fuel pressure regulator
Hypertech Chip
SLP 3” Stainless Steel Exhaust system(no cat)
Transmission
========
B&M 700R4 and Convertor
B&M Megashifter
Aluminium Propshaft
New Crown wheel and Pinion
New Half Shafts
Brakes
====
Baer Racing Corvette ZR1 brake kit modified for T/A
13”Discs with Z rated pads
Suspension
=======
Koni Adjustable all round
Hotchkiss Panhard Rod,Trailing Arms and Strut Brace
Edelbrock Lowering Spring Kit
PST Polygraphite suspension bushes throughout
South Side Eng.Subframe Connectors
Wheels
======
Image Wheels 10”x18” Rears with Toyo Proxes 275/40x18” Tyres
And 9”x18”Fronts with Toyo Proxes 245/45x18” Tyres
Interior
=====
Cobra UK Seats with rears,door panels,centre console and dash pad and arm rests covered in grey leather and alcantara to match
Centre console plate,Radio surround Plate and Gauge Trim Rings all made from
Billet Aluminium with Billet Aluminium Window Switches
Electric Mirror Switch Hidden
New Headlining and Sun Visors from Year One
Alpine Head Unit,CD Changer and Amp
Plus Six Speakers
There is no way I could afford just to spend all that money over a year or two but the fact that I have modified over the years and still kept using the car meant I could afford to do a bit each winter until I reached the standard it is now.
The best mod ive done was the Baer Kit and wheels which i did together along with lowering....etc etc
Many people say i could have had a new car for the money ive spent but if i bought new I would just get bored with nothing to do to it.(except a Viper which I would love!!)
Whatever you chose to do,just keep it tasteful and safe dont just bolt on crap for the sake of doing something.
Sorry for the long posting and thanks again to you all for such a great reaction to my mods....now what else can i do???

Omni,
The trim rings started life as aluminium tube which i machined on a lathe.
The other parts were 1/2"thick alum plate.I machined it down to 1/4"thick and machined in the shifter cut out and the gear selection cut out.The piece that angles down where the ashtray used to be was welded on at the correct angle.The radio surround was also milled form a 1/2"plte but is now 1/4"thk at its thickess point.
Obviously after welding and machining the finish wasnt the best so i spent hours with wet and dry of various grades until it was a polished finish.This would have been too shiny as the sun would reflect off it and shine in your face,so with some scotchbrite I put on the brushed finish.I havent had it anodised or laquered as its quite easy to remove it all and rescotchbrite it every now and then
Cheers

=0 The aluminum rocks, I love your seats too are they swede? Your whole interior looks awsome. Id probably make a piece to go around the big black piece for the mirror controls and door locks, it look awsome around the cloth speaker covers in the back too. But of course that would take more time.. definately nicest firebird interior ive seen tho.

I got a 78 Chevy Citation and umm... $34 and *digs through couch* 77 cents. Do you think a trade can be arranged?
