Paint on Taillights

Paint on Taillights

How do i get this damn paint off my taillights without screwing them up? Im also gonna need to polish em up a bit. Any recommended brands of polish or whatnot for that?

there has been post about it but i'm not gonna look em up

i got some ****ty lights off ebay and repainted the black parts and sanded down the lenses with like 400 wet up to 2000 then a turtle wax polish stuff(prolly not the best brand but what i had) and then a coat of clear. It looks basically like brand new lights now if not better

What "damn paint" are we talking about here? Overspray? You could try a clay bar. Polishing them might take the paint off as well. Eastwood sells a kit and the results posted here have been great.

Wait, you waxed, THEN clear coated? Bad idea....

Yup.... same here, they left overspray on all my lights/lenses.

My thoughts exactly. Overall the job wasnt bad. Wasnt too happy about all the pits that were left in it but hey. Only touched a bit of the tail lights so it shouldnt be a big deal

Yeah I've heard some pretty bad stories about them. Luckily I paint cars on the side so I can do it myself. Unfortunantly my cars been in primer for about 3yrs. Lazy, Lazy, Lazy!!!!
