Should I carpet my lower center console

I just received a nice lower center console and figured it would look better with carpet.
Should I carpet it?
Would flames underneath on the sides look OK?
Did carpeted consoles only come in special vehicles?
I sure do ask alot of questions

When I got mine, i pulled the carpeting off and painted the whole thing black. Painted the vents gray. It turned out pretty nice uncarpeted.

My parts car has uncarpeted and my current car came carpeted. However, I ended up switching them because a previous owner broke some parts trying to install a stereo (idiot....). Personally, I'd rather have it carpeted, but it's glued on there good. I think the interior I have was some kind of special order interior from the factory, but not too sure.

If you use a hair dryer to soften the glue, and then a razor to start it peeling, it will peel off in long strips. Pretty easy once you get the first piece up.

I've got a console without the carpet...

I plan on going all black interior in the future....

So I dunno if I'm gonna try to carpet it...

Any of you guys know where they sell the carpet for the consoles? Or will I have to go to Wal-Mart and buy some of the carpet in the auto section?

The carpeted console and rear compartment area was part of the Deluxe Interior or Custom Interior packages. These interiors included a noise deadening insulation to keep out road and wind noise.
