Swapping wing for spoiler?

I'm wondering how difficult and what exactly I need to swap the spoiler on my 89 Firebird with a wing from a TA?

What do I need?

How tough is this?

I don't think that the holes match up. Also you'd have to change your rear hatch lifts in order to accomidate the weight.

Your better off getting the correct hatch from the junk yard and painting it to match if you want the TA look.

Ahh good call, didn't even think about getting a whole new hatch....I'll check it out. I could probably drill holes and all to acomodate the new wing....but the lifters will have to be changed and I already changed mine earlier....it was prety expensive just to replace stock Firebird lifters with new ones.

I went through a couple sets of lifts before I found ones that would support my stock Trans-AM wing. Not a cheap endeavor to be sure.

This is the way i did it.

I found a t/a wing in the junkyard, it had the wing, the rear part of the hatch but no glass, it was broke. I took all of that stuff and the black trim piece that goes around the glass w/ the clips.

Took the metal piece off the hatch on my car, put the t/a piece on, put some rolled rubber gasket down to seal it, then bolted it back together, i then measured how far the t/a trim piece was including the clips, cut the ones off on my car, put weatherstripping glue and glued it to my hatch glass, let it dry, put the wing on, line the clips up, slide it foward and bolt it down. Now this isnt the easiest way, but can never seem to do things easy, and i was even more broke then than I am now.
