Thanks fella's....I got those NOS off of ebay. I paod 60 bucks for them and they are off an 80-81 Z28 Camaro. The installation was HORRIBLE. The frame rail along the fender hits everything. I had to shave alot of material off of the louvers for them to sink in place. It is a VERY tight fit....and there isn't much room for mistakes. I also sprayed a thick coat of undercoating on the inside to keep any exposed metal to moisture. I think I would rather install another set of headers....if that says anything...on a scale from 1-10....10 being the hardest....I'd say a 9.5...

i have one question for you...why laquer primer? It sucks compared to the epoxies and urethanes that they have today. Laquer chips easier and is not water proof....etc etc.....i like to go with 1 coat of epoxy and then a uerthane primer surfacer.

I've never delt with any urethane paints/primers. I've never had any problems with lacquer primer, it mixes 1:1 ratio and it's dry to the touch very fast. If I would have had problems with lacquer primers...I wouldn't have used it...but I never have...so....why change? I'm also using enamel paint..not base/clear which just about everyone uses nowdays. I've never had any problems with them and I really don't have enough money to experiment with urethanes, epoxies, base/clear. Everyone has their preferences with primers and paints.....I guess I like the "old school" style. I painted this front ground effect piece as soon as I got the car with enamel and many another cars in the past (wetsand/buff)....and no problems at all. Thanks for the heads up though. I'm sure if I can get a job at a body shop, I'm sure I'll see alllll kinds of different methods and techniques
